plus I'm implementing a few missing goodies along the way

SenRepus
awe cikkolata youre evil, you abstained on one of MY mods
cikkolata
I did?
SenRepus
heh
cikkolata
I actually did some voting though
SenRepus
probably just one you scrolled past on the mods page
yalaforge
pretending you don't know makes it even worse :-)
cikkolata
I've been procrastinating about it for... weeks.
SenRepus
i just submitted a ton of mods for only two CDs
fixed artists, composers, track titles, cd names of them
im anxious for them to get accepted so i can tagger them but i dont want to send 50 links over mirc
cikkolata
it's not like I make a note of who's doing the edit for everything I vote on
patience :P

ruaok
hey!
djce: do you need a hand looking at that Picard crash?
djce
I've worked around it.
ruaok
ok, good.
djce
it's not /fixed/, but it doesn't happen any more.
ruaok
well, in this case, that pretty much _is_ fixed.
:-)
cikkolata giggles
djce
for some reason in albumpanel, self.tree.GetSelection() returned an invalid node to me :-(
but I've hacked around it, as I say.
cikkolata
did you ever fix the removing albums bug I mentioned in here (I don't think I ever got round to reporting a bug x_x) where removing albums with unmatched files made all the tracks that were matched have errors and the entire album unremovable?
You'll find a whole different set of bugs in that copy ;-)
cikkolata giggles
cikkolata
aww yay, I can change the arrows when there's nothing there
djce
any feedback on that work is good, btw :-)
cikkolata
ok :)
djce
I'm thinking of adding another always-present node to the panel: "albums".
so that albums appear under it
i.e. as children
it seems more consistent (to me)
ruaok
ohhh.
cikkolata
yeah
ruaok likes
ruaok
it
cikkolata
I thought that at one point.
cikkolata is pleased with the arrows that are always there :D
djce
lol
I find it amusing that such a simple change (and one that I'd forgotten I'd even made) pleases you so much.
:-)
cikkolata
:)
djce
My favourite change, from a UI point of view, is that you can just drop files/dirs onto the empty space in the panel, instead of aiming for the "pending" folder.
cikkolata
aha, it doesn't do it in this one.
djce
again, totally trivial, but very effective.
good
cikkolata
you can? :o
:o
oops
djce
I'm just trying to get my head around the "metadata panel" now. TBH so far I've totally ignored it, apart from clicking "lookup" from time to time.
cikkolata
I threw my files a bit too fast and now my cursor doesn't work
djce
but it's meant to be able to do far more than that, and I suspect I've broken a lot of that functionality.
cikkolata
it's stuck on left corner and +, whatever /that/ cursor means
djce
You got too keen?
:-(
cikkolata
yes
djce
how many files?
cikkolata
hmm
I don't know
I was just excited throwing my files randomly on the window
djce
maybe it's just scanning the dir you dropped or something.
cikkolata
nah, it's done it before, but I've never managed to work out what causes it other than dragging stuff
the cursor normally instantly changes back as soon as I drop things
but occasionally it gets stuck
and I have to alt tab my way to a terminal to kill it
hmm
I just did it again
it went through 380 files and it's still stuck, so I guess it's not scanning...
yalaforge has quit
hmmm.
making the window too small makes the middle box where the metadata and album covers appear go under the metabox box
metadata box.
dammit.
words falling out of my sentences again ;_;
I love these arrows...
they make it all line up neatly
and they mean that I can collapse them before adding a billion songs.
cikkolata is sometimes easily pleased :D
djce
:-) I'm happy that you're pleased
cikkolata
I'm also having fun dropping stuff randomly!
how am I ever going to actually get any tagging done...
I don't get the screwed up numbers in this one either
before if I clustered files then added more, the unmatched files said how many tracks had been dropped into unmatched files.
which was a fun way of keeping track of how many files picard had loaded
I think I got about 1500 at most.
djce
Fixing the track counts going wrong was what started me off on this rework :-/ ;-)
cikkolata
but you've got a happy customer!
cikkolata notices that that middle thing's thingies... er... the box which has release info in it, when I click on something else it doesn't change.
my unmatched files were released in germany in 1995, according to this :P
djce
ah, I haven't even looked at that (the "info" panel) yet.
djce adds it to his personal todo list
cikkolata
it also sets the info when it loads an album
even though I haven't selected the album.
which is *really* confusing if you've currently got another album selected
djce
oh. interesting.
SenRepus
what are you guys talking about
cikkolata
picard
SenRepus
i figured... wasnt sure though
you like it, it sounds like?
cikkolata
I loooove picard.
