i've been searching for something like this for ages

I was wondering, what is the procedure when a song is in the database, but it fails to tag a track?

I am thinking from a contribution point of view here. Can the database store more than one trm for each track?

yes, it can

you have to find track, tag it and then press 'Submit tagged information to MusicBrainz' button

if you are using windows version of tagger...

could you tell me what the number beside the trm symbol on the search page represents?

I have been reading the FAQs and see that you have some exacting standards for entry of information into the database. I don't want to put in incorrect information, that must be paramount, but equally so I have some untagged tracks (not many mind, only 30 in 600-odd and about half of those are understandable) that I would like to submit. These are tracks that I have downloaded individually from the internet using various

me too. freenode is probably trimming long messages

file sharing applications, as is most of my music collection. I do not know which specific version of these tracks I have, which makes it difficult to choose when there are several almost identical versions. What should I do?

take a guess, that's pretty much all you can do.

but you can check the song lengths

and it's much more likely that your version comes from the main version of the album than, for example, an obscure remix on a limited edition single or something :)

if you had looked at her mod history too you might have noticed them being changed by others that weren't aware and then being changed back with the same explanation ^^;

essentially though please don't change the capitalization of Japanese releases unless you're familiar with the artist and know it's actually wrong

i understand this example - because the capital letters in the tracks build the title of the album - although i think, this should at least be mentioned in the annotations ;)
