anyway, I don't mind keeping the actual title part of japanese stuff how it is, but when it comes to stuff like mix names, it would bug me too much. I still think those should be kept consistent, I've seen tildes, fullwidth brackets, those corner bracket things, and I'm sure someone's used various other types of brackets.

but a lot of times the fullwidth ~ character gets used to seperate parts of titles, not denote a mix name
it seems that my thoughts on it come down keep it as it is except for things like mixes and instrumental and other stuff like that, oh, and I'd say ASCII brackets need space before them, they look silly otherwise :/
every time my browser (which is fullscreen with a 1600x1200 resolution) scrolls, someone gets a nice link to tinyurl

all the mixes of that song on the single for it use the fullwidth ~ but other mixes of it are denoted more normally (for Avex) with " instead

and the fun thing about sites like his is, you kind of avoid those arguments people give about "are you sure that's what the artist intended and not some printer decision" because he wrote all the songs, produced all the music, and it's his personal website with commentary on every track. Presumably the form that appears there is going to be how he wanted it

cikkolata: around 500 for artists. not sure on albums. tracks works out to around 12-15k if I remember right
2005-01-06 00619, 2005
DJKC
it gets dodgy when counting stuff like all the ddr soundtracks or dancemania compilations on Toshiba-EMI
2005-01-06 00643, 2005
DJKC
right under 13k if I don't count any game or anime soundtracks, another 5k if you count anime OSTs, another 3k if you count game soundtracks. Oh, and 3500-4000 unsorted tracks that's probably 90-95%+ Japanese stuff. So all total close to 25k for tracks I guess. If you go off averages around 2-2.5k albums I guess
2005-01-06 00626, 2005

2005-01-06 00643, 2005

at a guess I'd say out of that 25k probably 20% at most is in MB
by her analysis, there's about 6000 tracks with Japanese characters in the titles
2005-01-06 00638, 2005

although that ignores all the Japanese songs with English titles
