how does the search handle variations on spaces, like nbsp, thin spaces and stuff?

all whitespace is removed before the search is carried out.

do you gents know of a way to get the album year - there is a bunch of MBE_AlbumGetArtistID, MBE_AlbumGetAlbumName but there is nothing for year

it looks like it is not supported, but it is in the MB dbase

You may need to add your own defines if Sean Cier (the author of the bindings hasn't done so).

Got a question, if anyone's alive ... I'm trying to get a working musicbrainz enabled tagger for linux, and so far, not one of the ones I've tried will compile under a fresh install of FC3 ... Any suggestions?

No really good Linux options at this time. New tagger will be cross-platform, but it's not stable yet.

I'm using the official Win tagger via Crossover Office (wine) on Linux.

I can't get any of the taggers linked from the website to even compile. :(

Tried Wine and Cedega, no luck with either

Cedega just gives a shinier OLE exception error

I don't think so ... I don't use Windows by choice so upgrade nothing

Hmmm, sounds like you've got Mozilla set as a default browser somewhere in Win settings.

Generally the first thing I do is install moz and use it to grab a virus scanner and ad scanner
