I've /just/ mailed mb-users with a plea for testing volunteers.

ruaok wonders why we are always so contrarian.
2003-04-03 09357, 2003
ruaok
good.
2003-04-03 09316, 2003
ruaok
personally, I think things look quite good.
2003-04-03 09339, 2003
djce
Yes. The only bit which concerns me is all the moderation web forms.
2003-04-03 09354, 2003
djce
That's just because, although conceptually the changes were simple, the diffs were complex.
2003-04-03 09305, 2003
djce
So it's hard to prove to oneself that the changes are correct.
2003-04-03 09307, 2003
ruaok
I walked through quite a few of them yesterday...
2003-04-03 09316, 2003
ruaok
understood.
2003-04-03 09324, 2003
djce
That's good. I haven't really, not since originally coding them.

"server version: 2003-04-05-RC1" - I hope :-)

So is there a preview binary of the tagger to test?
2003-04-03 09351, 2003
djce belatedly turns his wall calendar to "April"
2003-04-03 09304, 2003
ruaok
yes. I posted about it yesterday.
2003-04-03 09308, 2003
ruaok
0.9.0-test1
2003-04-03 09326, 2003
djce
ok
2003-04-03 09324, 2003
ruaok
so far I've not had any comments on it.

Time to fire up my wife's Windows box so I can play
2003-04-03 09331, 2003
ruaok
I suppose no news is good news.
2003-04-03 09334, 2003

/I'll/ comment ;-)
2003-04-03 09337, 2003
ruaok
damn.

About the tagger...
2003-04-03 09332, 2003
djce
In the installation process, it asks about making the tagger the default CD player app.
2003-04-03 09346, 2003
djce
I've never said "yes" yet, but I've noticed it's the default.
2003-04-03 09359, 2003
djce
Has anybody requested the default be "no" ?
2003-04-03 09303, 2003
ruaok
not yet.
2003-04-03 09322, 2003
phidauex
i'm formally requesting that the default be no
2003-04-03 09325, 2003
phidauex
;)
2003-04-03 09329, 2003
djce
I'm assuming that having the tagger set to your CD-app-thing makes it pretty hard to actually /play/ the cd, does it?
2003-04-03 09346, 2003
ruaok
yeah, but who uses CDs?
2003-04-03 09351, 2003
ruaok
:-)
2003-04-03 09321, 2003
djce
hmmm. some answer!
2003-04-03 09329, 2003
djce
ouch. an error. let me transcribe it...
2003-04-03 09301, 2003
djce
Access violation at address 66806730 in SHELL32.DLL, Read of address FFFFFFFF
2003-04-03 09329, 2003
djce
That was after going into the options screen, changing a couple of things, then it did it when I clicked OK
2003-04-03 09340, 2003
ruaok
ugh.
2003-04-03 09349, 2003
ruaok
can you try and reproduce it?
2003-04-03 09349, 2003
djce
No, I lie, not OK. sorry.
2003-04-03 09306, 2003
djce
When I clicked "Browse" next to "move tagged files to..."
2003-04-03 09310, 2003
djce
I'll try.
2003-04-03 09344, 2003
djce
Yup, same again.

G'day, gang. Any objections to me hacking on logwatch so that we get a summary of ANON proftpd logins instead of a complete list in the email we get every day?
2003-04-03 09351, 2003
djce
This is on Win98 with IE 5.5
2003-04-03 09311, 2003
djce
Crack on. I've never understood logwatch anyway!
2003-04-03 09313, 2003
djce
ruaok: to reproduce (for me): start tagger, dismiss nag, open options dialog, go to "Directories" tag, check "move tagged files to this directory", click "Browse".
2003-04-03 09358, 2003
ruaok
jsimmons: sure.
2003-04-03 09310, 2003
ruaok
djce: ok, I think I know what the problem us.
2003-04-03 09311, 2003
djce
After the crash dialog message is dismissed, the app is unresponsive, as if it's waiting for you to complete the "browse" dialog which /should/ have appeared. But it never did appear, so the tagger has to be killed.
2003-04-03 09332, 2003
djce
cool
2003-04-03 09344, 2003
djce
I'll keep playing, pending a workaround or -test-2
2003-04-03 09300, 2003
ruaok
workaround:
2003-04-03 09310, 2003
ruaok
check the box, type some text into the field and then hit browse.
2003-04-03 09321, 2003
djce
FYI, exactly the same crash on the other "browse" button just below.
2003-04-03 09322, 2003
djce
ok
2003-04-03 09342, 2003
djce
workaround successful :-)

module ID3LIB.DLL at 017f:006b4ca4.
2003-04-03 09340, 2003

Looks like it's a specific input file. I'll try to confirm...
2003-04-03 09304, 2003
ruaok
if so, mail me the file or stick it onto zim
2003-04-03 09319, 2003
rudolf
No wait, that's not quite it.
2003-04-03 09331, 2003
rudolf
The problem is the file /before/, which fails to decode.
2003-04-03 09350, 2003
rudolf
After failing to decode that file, trying to process any other file causes the crash.
