In a way, yes. One of them nominates someone whom they want to include, and the others vote on it
oldtopman
ah shit, too late.
hibiscuskazeneko
what for?
oldtopman
not crossing automods :P
hibiscuskazeneko
I do it all the time
CallerNo6 is one
darwin
huh, I just came up with a good idea for a mb bot
it fills out releases groups with alternate versions from discogs...
as long as their tracklists etc. are identical
low hanging fruit, but would get tons of data
hibiscuskazeneko
that would produce a LOT of clutter
it might even be worse than Likedis Auto in terms of data quality

disagree, because there are MANY alternative versions of cd singles and digital vs. vinyl
hibiscuskazeneko
There are, but it would be better to add them manually
darwin
time vs. return
hibiscuskazeneko
That way any inconsistencies can be picked up by hand
Quality over quantity
darwin
what is the quality of a non-existing release, but sure :)

If someone cared, they would add it. Therefore, nobody cares about missing releases.
hibiscuskazeneko
I would rather add fewer releases with better data than more releases with patchy data
After what happened with Likedis Auto, never again.
darwin
I care about computers doing work they can do
so I can do the work that only humans can do
philosophically, as it were.
if you add duplicate relatons
it shouldn't make yuo click "x" lol
just delete it/reset it

just discovered cat has a habit of sitting on the oven stove, now I wonder if that's why he had huge naked parts on the inside of his legs earliee - he'd burnt himself
silly, you'd think he'd learn
blup worried
also i like the bupe discogs bot idea
as long as that thing re-used recordings
also for the 11thie time: autoeditors aren't *supposed* to be "special". hell I'm one
but yea. i very much advocate the election for so and such years
oldtopman, hibiscus, everybody ....who'd not here right now: "autoeditor" is about making edits go through faster, since they're "trusted" to do *good* edits. their voting ability. not so
ahhh
but yea what was said eralier

Nice.
I really don't get how yindesu was "clearly" abusive in that last edit hibiscuskazeneko linked. He even offers to revert put the edit to a vote: "But if you disagree strongly I can put that to a vote."
It is really one of the more civil hibiscuskazeneko/yindesu exchanges.

darwin: even if we don't add an actual bot, we should be better at showing "this artist has n releases not linked in discogs" or "this release group has x unlinked versions in discogs"
Maybe it could even have an option like "I've linked all existing versions in MB, import the rest" :)

Not full auto import, since someone says they've checked manually first, but still a big time saver
