A little confused about a particular release title. I’m entering the data for the score for Z for Zachariah. Amazon calls it ‘Z For Zachariah - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack’. iTunes calls it ‘Z For Zachariah (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)’. The label’s site has the two on separate lines with no punctuation in between. The cover shows ‘Original Motion Picture...

darwin: The difference between a bot and a userscript is that the userscript acts on the immediate supervision of the user.
If you have performer info, that'd be great, but that's unrelated

I'm unsure about part titles ("Ode to Joy", "Spring from The Four Seasons"), numbers that are out of order ("Nocturne no. 2 in E-flat major, op. 9 no. 2" instead of "Nocturne in E-flat major, op. 9 no. 2"), and extra information ("Concerto for Violin in E major" instead of "Concerto in E major").

Well, whatever is printed

I was just going over the recently added releases for various artists. In the past I avoided the classical releases, but a new year brings new challenges. :-)

Without having the release, I can't know whether those are fine, but I'm assuming they're printed probably

reosarevok
If so, they're fine - "new" CSG is much less strict

The part title is written in two different ways: "Symphony no. 9: Finale. Presto - ‘Ode to Joy’" and "Concerto for Violin no. 1 in E major, op. 8 no. 1 RV 269 (‘Spring’ from The Four Seasons)". That's ok?

Please ignore the single quotes for now.
2016-01-01 00137, 2016
reosarevok
Yeah, if that's how the release has it, that's fine

... three, actually: "Peer Gynt-Suite no. 1, op. 46: In the Hall of the Mountain King"

That's the same as the Symphony ;)

But yeah, for example when a release includes a full work and a part, it's not that weird to have, say

"Sonata no. X: I. Allegro" and then "Finale (from Sonata no. Y)"

But really, the most useful thing here would be performer info (especially for compilations like these, where it's the main chance of finding wtf each one is)
2016-01-01 00107, 2016
Yurim
Do I (or you) know enough about these recordings to link it to the works?
2016-01-01 00122, 2016
reosarevok
So if you feel like contacting new users about those, that's usually a good thing to mention :)

reosarevok
Hmm. Yeah, I think we do
2016-01-01 00147, 2016
reosarevok
But a lot of them need to be "partial recording of" because they're fragments or unspecified movements
(generally it's hard to find proper info for this kind of compilation without the disc)

I'm going to wash a huge pile of dishes now

But I will be back in a bit - maybe try to add the missing info and I'll check it up when I'm back :)

Yurim
Do that. I will try to edit it a little bit further. If you could just check it afterwards, that would be nice.

reosarevok (when back): I added of the releationships from the ebay page (except "Palmer, Watts, Davies, Shirley-Quirk" on track 4). Should the emphasized performers ("Francois René Duchable (piano)", "Marieke Blankenstijn (violin)", ...) have a "solo" attribute?

Rels look fine - I think it's just editing the titles to add the work parts left, and then you can try to match to works

reosarevok: I'm done. I was not able to identify the works for "Bizet - Carmen: Prélude" and "Pachelbel - Canon in D major for Strings and Continuo". Thanks for all your help.
