it would be nice if picard had a feature to automatically keep retrying to download release information until it succeeded
now when I throw a couple hundred releases into picard I have to manually click on the ones that failed to load and hit ctrl+r until they're all loaded properly which takes like several minutes
of course it would be even nicer if mbz didn't throw so many server errors :/ or whatever is causing picard to fail to load release data
Freso, I tried this morning and again just now. It doesn't work for me.

Question for all you Picard people. Why is it when I select "LookUp CD" it often does not find one. However on pressing "Lookup manually" there is often a disc there with "We found discs matching the information you requested" ??
hibiscuskazeneko
It probably means that particular Disc ID is not in the database
Have you tried submitting one via Picard?
(it's been a while since I've done this)

sorry MajorLurker, my Internet is flickering
MajorLurker
Having the same problem here, maybe it's the aliens
hibiscuskazeneko
Have you checked to see that Picard is set up to use the proper drive to read CDs?
Aliens? Wow, that seems… remarkably plausible
MajorLurker
Picard is reading it ok.....
And when I press the manually lookup butoon it often finds the release on MB.
hibiscuskazeneko
Does it find the one you're looking for, or one like it?
Often times different editions of the same release will have the same Disc ID

it's just that right now I have no strong felling eiter way
jesus2099
it was the merge of about 6 scripts…
oh yes, I won’t add that button. :)

hibiscuskazeneko, That's my point, it often finds the release I have in hand once I get to MB, with the same discID.....what I can't understand is why Picard does not see it as such>
hibiscuskazeneko
If you just added that info, Picard is bound to the same indexing delay
If not, I'm at a loss
I'm not a Picard expert
jesus2099
hey it’s not logging !
hibiscuskazeneko

oh sorry, it is.

nope in one case it was related to an edit I did two years ago
jesus2099
MajorLurker: isn’t it just 503 server is not responding ?
MajorLurker
Maybe that's it .... except it does find the odd one straight up
jesus2099
also another possibility is that when you added the Disc ID, it was another CD drive and the CD has data track and in this cases there were discrepencies
a one TOC is linked to 2 releases in MB ?
and you only see one in Picard ?
MajorLurker
No I don't see any when I do a "LookUp CD" and then when I hit the "Lookup Manually" button it finds the release in MB
In other words it should find it but it doesn't ??

So I just entered a release and hit LookUp CD and it found it straight off..... all a bit odd.
