Freso: could you also approve https://musicbrainz.org/edit/47728121 please? i see you approved the medium/recording edits which changed the same thing, i forgot that RG edits are not listed in release edits, so this one was out of sight. thanks!
also any input on the edit release edit is welcome

ok so i think my edit should not fail now (though language and script are filled in)
because one of the edits was reverted (which i missed)
so it seems like the editor changed the AC with autoedits before they saw my open edits (which should also not happen)
arbenina joined the channel
so at least i know it was not a deliberate attempt to make my edit fail
for the future: linking a few of those stores in the edit note is a good idea
culinko
i thought the edit is a nobrainer
CatQuest
nope :)
you're claiming that it's " feat. " exactly
culinko
and that if someone has problems with how it's displayed on the cover art, they would just let my edits pass and then submit the AC edits
CatQuest
proof is always useful for voters
culinko
so the people could vote on them
the thing is that i added the store links in the same edit chain
but the relationships are autoedits
CatQuest
well unfortiunatly i can't see those as they are auto's i think? so it's always usuefullto paste a hload of links in the edit note
culinko
too bad you can't see all the related edits in the same edit chain
CatQuest
anywa: for the future: what isaid earlier
:)
i'vehad to re-learn that lesson myself
culinko
so i thought it's redundant (e.g. the same edit note would also be displayed for the add relationship edits)
CatQuest
looking at 10 year old edits of my own going 2wtf was i doing?"
culinko
yeah i will try to add more stuff to the notes
CatQuest
+1!
culinko
also, what to do now about this release
CatQuest
with edit notes when i doubth: more is better
culinko
medium + recording has one AC, release + rg has the other AC
CatQuest
no idea. i'm going ot try focusing on instrments and not debussy
wish me luck!
culinko
good luck and have fun!
CatQuest
:D
culinko
also even though my edits didn't fail (luckily), is still have issues with editors making edits on entities that already have open edits. i acknowledge that you can miss it by accident, but if you are an experienced editor (which i assume autoeditors are) and you are making an autoedit, you should look at the open edits to check if there's anything conflicting and then discuss it before
submitting your autoedits
and as i said in the edit note, i don't have any issues with discussing the topic of digital media cover art vs store AC to figure out which one should be used

There are the countries "Germany" and "East Germany", but strangely, "West Germany" missing.
how to add it / request it?
Assigning releases "made in West Germany" just to "Germany" is not optimal IMO.
(I'm referring to the "manufacured in"-relationship)

spitzwegerich: that's because West Germany officially just switched into Germany for ISO - DE was the "Code used for West Germany before 1990 (previous ISO country name: Germany, Federal Republic of)"
So there's no different country in that sense in the official ISO list, West Germany is Germany

spitzwegerich: i was thinking the exact same thing. i had several older cd releases was made in "west germany"
reosarevok: but that's a code weakeness
in reality, it's not true ™
(i mena if iwe had area-credits maybe)
SothoTalKer
was "West Germany" the official name? :)

quick question about digital media releases: does what is displayed on the cover art priority over what is displayed in the store or a streaming service? (iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Spotify, YouTube)
i know in the case of physical releases it does, but not sure about digital media
cause "digital media covers" can sometimes be a little weird
