Hello, I have a release in which some track titles have the second name in another language that is wrtitten below the main title and is generally smaller. Should I skip it when adding a release or separate it from the main title with / ?

treew: Can you please give a link to where the information is at? That way, the question will be clearer.
treew
c1e0: I read it from the CD cover so I cannot provide you direct source.

Lotheric: Sounds like a terrible online form then. :) I've begun using … (ellipsis), ‐ (hyphen), – (n-dash), and — (m-dash) almost everywhere, and sometimes I'll even also do ‘’“” too.
c1e0
Generally, names in other languages can be added in "Aliases" tab.
Freso
treew: If both are listed on the cover, you can either just use the most prominent one or optionally use "Prominent or Primary Name (Translated Name)".
In both cases you can either use aliases to record the title in various other languages, and/or (if track titles also have translated names) create Pseudo Releases for/with the translated track titles.
treew
The publisher's website mentions only primary title.
Freso
Then probably go with that and put the other name in an alias.
c1e0
treew: You can take a look at this (https://musicbrainz.org/work/9889d7e5-7d6b-45c3...) to see a sample work with an alias, in case you're not sure of what I mean. Aliases can be added to recordings as well.
treew
c1e0: Right, I'm going to add them then.
Thank you all

Yaniel : For a cover, it looks kinda weird to me. I'm trying to avoid using the word "ugly". :D :) It's a weird cover, I must say. Covers, in plural, because there's both front and back, and they're both weird.
Yaniel
yes they are ugly
publishers aren't exactly known to have great artistic vision when it comes to making compilations of old stuff
c1e0
Yaniel: I took one look at them and wondered whether they were whipped up by a 10 year old in 1 minute. Hell, one minute is too generous. It was probably made in 30 seconds. Lol
Yaniel
the best part is that the publisher apparently made an entire series with essentially the same covers
Blue for boys, pink for girls. Gender stereotypes in action.

sushant_nagi With many students claiming tasks, mentors can't be as fast as you like. Sorry. You're probably new to this. If you have been doing this for some time, you would have been accustomed to waiting already. :D
CatQuest
we're also sorry that you're waiting. I mean we *want* to help yo uasap, but well. there are hournderds of studnets that want help asap :D
c1e0
CatQuest: I understand. I can only imagine how hard you mentors have it.
CatQuest
it's.. stressful :D
but hoenstly much better this year than last
overal quality of student work has gone up!

to butt in with something completely different, is there an actual process for proposals? e.g. I just spotted https://wiki.musicbrainz.org/Podcast but that last saw any action in 2011…
CatQuest
oh you' want ot talk to reosarevok about that i think
there is a an actual process for proposals but uhh.. i need ot eat rightnow ~___~
dominikh
enjoy your dinner(?)
c1e0
CatQuest: You mentioned 'eat' and that made me feel like eating as well. Hunger must be contagious? Lol
dominikh: you should probably put together a basic text (that one is probably too old? so it might at least need updating) and open a conversation on the forums
Eventually I need to take some sort of a decision about these things, but first I need to know what people want because I never listen to podcasts, so I have absolutely no idea :D
dominikh
heh. I was hoping for an on-going, detailed discussion on the topic that would soon find a conclusion and tell me what to do; not to spearhead my own proposal :P
reosarevok
Well, maybe there's a discussion about it on the forum somewhere
