kepstin: Either that or scan it in sections and stitch it together using something like Hugin. I've done that with a couple of posters using the tutorial at http://hugin.sourceforge.net/tutorials/scans/en.s… for guidance, and they've turned out pretty well.

Any annotation not fixed later on is basically permanent, I've seen ones from e.g. 2013, being super outdated

> zarcade_droid: And what do you mean "permanent annotations"? You can just remove the annotation again once it’s no longer needed
2019-06-13 16449, 2019
zarcade_droid
If I annotate every release where Nicholas Briggs is credited as "Music" then hundreds of releases will have that annotation, if that data is not acquired (e.g. I don't get a reply to my e-mail) then yes, it's "permanent" in the sense that it remains for a long long time

as I said the day before yesterday, if this is the consensus I can edit the annotations to include all non-conforming information, but it's a lot of data un-parseable given I have **thousands** of releases

zarcade_droid: "I've seen ones from e.g. 2013, being super outdated" - so, like any other data in MB: update it.

Annotations are no more permanent than any other data in MB.

"a long long time" ≠ permanent
2019-06-13 16449, 2019
zarcade_droid
By that definition we can't call anything permanent, which I disagree to

Annotations also aren't linked to any other data - it's not trivial to rename someone mentioned in all the annotations and etc.

Annotations are free form, wiki‐like data, agreed. This has pros and cons. If something can be represented by using relationships, that should, indeed, be done by using relationships. But many things simply aren’t.
