johtso: I would suggest making new tickets for those vocal types anyway. things generally shouldn't be in a single ticket unless they only make sense if added together (e.g. male and female would make sense as a pair, because one without the other would be odd, but the rest are pretty independent)
hibiscuskazeneko: cover would make sense to me, I've seen cover album used plenty of times just like live album would be. less sure about christmas album
hibiscuskazeneko
I'd probably define it as "an album of Christmas-themed music by an artist who does not specialize in Christmas music"
though even that my be too broad

nikki
I suspect people would use it for any christmas stuff, whether the artist specialises in it or not
hibiscuskazeneko
That's why we'd need to come up with a good guideline to stop such use
Then again, there are artists like Mannheim Steamroller who have built half their discographies on Christmas music
nikki
you can't stop it via guidelines though :) while the most obvious thing to a random user adding a christmas album is to pick the "christmas" option from the list, that's what they'll do, no matter how many guidelines there are saying otherwise
Images have been failing to load for the past few hours
It's affecting both the beta and regular servers
I'm trying to look at the CSS to see if there's some link that's breaking (it's been a while since I've touched this stuff)
The icons appear to be set as some kind of value (not a URL like I was expecting)
I do know that this and read timeouts while searching are not mutually exclsive

the images are embedded in the css as data uris, so if it were a problem with the css, all the styling would be broken
(which would be very obvious, if nothing else :P)
so it seems to be something else causing it
hibiscuskazeneko
I didn't see any URLs in there
unless those "base64" things were encrypted URLs
Even ruaok told me he didn't know what was going on
I should also note that whatever is causing image issues apparently may be causing the pop-up "Add a new [entity]" thing to hang and not load
Oh, images appear to have magically fixed themselves now
nikki
the base64 stuff is what I meant, yes. but it's not a link to an external thing, all the info needed to display the image is already there, so it's a bit like using a url except it doesn't need any extra requests
hibiscuskazeneko
hmm
so making a new tab fixed it (the old tab is still affected, even after I refreshed the page)
Maybe something server-side is corrupting those requests?
nikki
if that were the case, everyone would have the same issue
hibiscuskazeneko
Someone (I think it was Freso) said it might be related to a known Chrome bug)
nikki
I really think it's some weird bug in your browser, especially if it's limited to individual tabs, that sounds vaguely similar to an issue I see in chrome when I open too many tabs where it just stops rendering some tabs entirely and I have to restart it to make it work again
hibiscuskazeneko
It has nothing to do with that
I
I've had dozens of tabs open at once without issue
It seems to occur only occasionally
nikki
it sounds vaguely similar because your browser appears to have suddenly forgotten how to render certain images for no apparent reason with no obvious cause

what confuses me most is that I haven't seen other people complaining of the same thing... normally even for browser-specific bugs we get multiple people seeing it
