Leftmost: you can also say in, not really sure if "auf" would be correct or not in this case. You see "auf" for ships, not sure if that also counts for submarines..
hibiscuskazeneko: lol
hibiscuskazeneko
that came to mind from what you guys were saying
Freso
ZaphodBeeblebrox: Well, it's "ubåd" in daily speak here too, just like "automobil" is simply "bil".
JonnyJD
Freso: in german it is worse, we say "Auto" for Automobil, not that "auto" would make it technically distinct
CallerNo6
What /is/ the deal with those beer boots? They always remind me of something my mother used to say. "He's so dumb, he couldn't poor piss out of a boot if the directions were on the sole."
ZaphodBeeblebrox
Freso: well that's what I assumed too :P
CallerNo6
oops, s/poor/pour/
ZaphodBeeblebrox
he's poor in the inteligence levels
CallerNo6 deserved taht
JonnyJD is afk again
CallerNo6
grr
ZaphodBeeblebrox
freso, though afaik the "bil" denomination was a result of a vote in amagazin/newspaper for what a the danish word for "car" should be. and "bil" was chosen (from automobil) and was further imported to norway and sweden
while "ubåt/d" is just a simple foreshortening of "undervannsbåt" afaik.
Freso
ZaphodBeeblebrox: Just 'cause a word wins a vote in a paper does not mean it automatically gains acceptance in the public daily language.
derwin
ZaphodBeeblebrox: lame,bummer.
ZaphodBeeblebrox
Freso: urhm.. any what else do we today call cars then?
also I didn't say it was fact, i seem to remember this reading itsomewhere
Freso
ZaphodBeeblebrox: I'm not saying we're not using "bil" or that it didn't win some vote in some paper.
ZaphodBeeblebrox
ok fine. I'm not saying that it's not possible that people used "automobil" aroudn the time
ok? :)
Freso
Just that B) might as well be caused by A) as the other way around.
(That is, people might as well have voted for "bil" since they had already started using that word.)
ZaphodBeeblebrox
well it was picked because it was part of "automobil" so
uhm.. oh well oh is that your arugment uh
Freso
Part of it anyway.
ZaphodBeeblebrox
i thoguht that it was tht people used "automobil"
in anycase
Freso
They did way back.
ZaphodBeeblebrox
i dag sier vi "bil"
in german bis das "auto"
and the english are speical as usual and use "car"
What should the 'album artist' be for a karaoke compilation of remade songs. legally, the artist is the production company. Should I do [unknown] or 'Various Artists'?
hibiscuskazeneko
Probably either [unknown] or [no artist]
davygrvy
k,tnks i'll go with [no artist]
hibiscuskazeneko
no prob
CallerNo6
doesn't [no artist] mean literally that there was no artist?
davygrvy
they aren't artists, just paid anonymous employees
any attemp to find who played drums would be impossible ;)
CallerNo6
that's what [unknown] is for.
davygrvy
ok... so for example, sound scapes of running water and waves splashing at the beach fir for [no artist], literally
ok, for some reason dragging the url?tport=8000 over to picard isn't working
i don't see a green tag on the page either
Freso
sleezio: Picard doesn't care about the ?tport=...
davygrvy
yeah, just append ?tport=8000 and you're good
Freso
sleezio: If Picard isn't getting the releases when you click the green "button", something is off in your system.
Are you using NoScript?
sleezio
when i try and drag the url to picar and let go, it just returns back to the browser, it doesn't add the new item in the right panel like it did earlier
it's disabled
Freso
Completely disabled, or just "allow scripts on all sites" or however that goes.
sleezio
globally
Freso
Yes.
So is it disabled on about:addons or just having scripts allowed globally?
The latter option will still block some non-script things.
