pankkake, I suppose in some sense it could be considered to be sufficiently non-destructive as to be allowable as an auto-edit, though it's not very consistent.
pankkake
if this is voluntary, it's a bad idea. it's going to be harder to catch mistakes
especially for various artist releases, which are not in subcription emails

sometimes it's a shame there's no autoedit equivalent of a cancel
pankkake
well yes, fixing/reverting edits is a pain. I can easily vote on mistakes (which are already too many), I can't possibly fix/revert as many

I wish the "add new X" processing in the RE would include a way to recover from a 502 in the popup window :-(
reosarevok
I mostly wish it didn't have to :p
But yeah, those are a pain
Zastai
if a track is not listed on the back, but the lyrics are in the booklet under a heading "UNTITLED", should the recording be called "Untitled" or "[untitled]"?
zas
Well, it depends if the track is titled "Untitled" or is untitled, so it's up to you based of data you have, in the doubt, ask the artist if possible ;) Similarly i added few tracks titled "Silence" which are not [silence]
502s are driving me mad, 666 would have been a better choice
Zastai
i would much rather wait a minute for a request to return, than to have this bloody 502
derwin
I would think that track would be titled untitled
Zastai
i've left it as [untitled] for now (was a pre-existing release)
is there any planned support for multi-track-flac-with-embedded-cue-sheet in picard (as in, taking the file and treating its embedded tracks as separate tracks for scanning/lookup purposes)?
derwin
there is a feature request for that in beets, at least
not sure if there is any progress towards it..
zas
afaik nothing is planned about that, but you can add a feature request in Picard bugtracker

Heh, fantastic. "Who the hell entered this release? Where the hell did they come up with this information? Oh, I did."
(For some bizarro release of an album for which I can find no other information except what's on the case.)
reosarevok
hahaha

CallerNo6, I assumed good faith, just that the user was an eejit. Turns out I was right. :-P
CallerNo6
As long as you meant well :-)
Leftmost
I did. I even made a note that I wasn't able to find any reliable information on the release, just that I was holding the thing.
CallerNo6
That would be a hilarious CotM. Everybody go back through their own edit histories and fix things they did wrong.
Leftmost
I fairly regularly go back through my CDs and correct things when I find them.
And to be fair, I'm not sure I entered anything mistakenly, just with very limited information. (No release status or release date, weird label.)
It was presumably yours, as it was added in your edit.
CallerNo6 looks again
reosarevok
wtf why is that a wikidoc page to begin with
Oh, it's not :p
CallerNo6
oh, yeah, was just gonna say, nevermind. it's not in the transclusion table
sorry transcluder people who have better things to do than listen to me!
reosarevok
haha
Leftmost
Everyone has better things to do than listen to you. *patpat*
reosarevok goes to some concert for now :)
CallerNo6
okay, busted. I made a typo. That's not the one I was seeing.
anyway, you really should call yourselves The Transcluders.
Leftmost
Which were you seeing? There's also "well informed" versus "well-informed", but that's not necessarily worthy of being called a typo.
CallerNo6
"the the proposals"
Leftmost
Ahh.
I'm good at missing those things.

Hi, I have set up a MusicBrainz development server, and it seems to be up to date (I can see the message Last replication packet received at 2015-04-30 20:03 UTC on the main page) but I don't see any "update" on the "recent Additions" panel... Is-it normal? Do I have to activate something? Thank you very much...
and then see if recent ids from a few hours ago are in your replicated db

Well it seems ok. I can find the 2nd album displayed on mb.org "White Magik" from Deadboy in my own Dev MB server. I just wanted to know if there was something to do to enable the panel to update on my mirror...
And thank you for your answer @Derwin
derwin
typhoe: I think the key is that replicating all that edit info is very expensive, or something
