I'm going waaay out on a limb with this https://musicbrainz.org/release/221588d7-04bd-3f4…

The Disc IDs attached to the CD release of Alive! 1975-2000 seem to indicate shorter track times (though upon looking at them directly they don't) but the iTunes digital release lists the original longer track times https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/id205155994

        hibiscuskazenek1: i think i'd give that about 80% confidence.

      • hibiscuskazenek1
Yeah, I'm curious as to the origins of those Disc IDs
      • 2015-04-13 10345, 2015

      • hibiscuskazenek1
Every indication I can find suggests the track times are the exact same as the original Alive! release
      • 2015-04-13 10343, 2015

      • kepstin-laptop
well, the original release was vinyl, right? so track times are a bit fluid :/
      • 2015-04-13 10357, 2015

      • kepstin-laptop
or do you mean the original cd release?
      • 2015-04-13 10349, 2015

      • hibiscuskazenek1
        Both

could be they've gone back to the master tapes for the new cd rather than just reprinted the old cd, which can make time differences; or alternately just getting someone to do a new cd master can change times ±2s without any real audio change.

      • hibiscuskazenek1
All the Disc IDs I've seen for the various pressings of Alive! all support the longer track times
      • 2015-04-13 10343, 2015

      • hibiscuskazenek1
and WIkipedia suggests they were the same for the original vinyl
      • 2015-04-13 10348, 2015

      • kepstin-laptop
what kind of time differences are we looking at here? I only checked one track at random, and it was 1s difference, which is well within the margin of error.

      • hibiscuskazenek1
Some tracks are over a minute apart in listed time

      • 2015-04-13 10322, 2015

      • kepstin-laptop
hmm. there might actually be two different versions of the track then :/
      • 2015-04-13 10324, 2015

      • hibiscuskazenek1
I can't find anything to confirm this

      • hibiscuskazenek1
Usually if a version of a release is re-edited (especially by a major act such as KISS) there's some record of it somewhere
      • 2015-04-13 10322, 2015

      • kepstin-laptop
yeah, like the track "Cold Gin", https://musicbrainz.org/cdtoc/2.HsR0F63amsOZ9ZrrA… shows the longer length
      • 2015-04-13 10338, 2015

      • kepstin-laptop
so I dunno why that's in the db at 5:43 :/
      • 2015-04-13 10323, 2015

      • kepstin-laptop
i'd say go ahead with the merge; either the disc id is wrong or there's bigger issues that would require splitting ohter tracks out later :/
      • 2015-04-13 10304, 2015

      • hibiscuskazenek1
If there's bigger issues they're likely to be documented somewhere

Yes, milliAmpere hour, it’s the capacity.

I assume you've checked your phone's specs to make sure it can handle those capacities?

CatQuest: The higher the mAh, the longer time it'll live between recharges.
