HibiscusKazeneko: Why would they "pre-empt" that?
-
HibiscusKazeneko
I don't know. He did it to one of my previous artist-death edits.
-
He most likely just forgot to check.
-
Freso
Did you ask him about it?
-
HibiscusKazeneko
No, it was too late.
-
Freso
Eh...
-
You realise you add edit notes after an edit is closed, right?
-
It's never too late to ask.
-
HibiscusKazeneko
I can, but in the moment I was fearful.
-
I can't even remember which edit it was now.
-
Freso
:)
-
HibiscusKazeneko
It was the first time I saw him do it, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
-
Freso
Yet you named him when posting this edit.
-

I still have my suspicions.
-
Freso
Of course you do.
-
Anyway, I approved your edit and went ahead and narrowed down the "died in" a bit more.
-
HibiscusKazeneko
Oh, thanks. Where'd you find the info to narrow it down?
-
Freso
On those same sources you used. :p
-
HibiscusKazeneko
-
Freso
Look at the edit note. :)
-
Freso is one of those pesky editors that actually try to give sources for all his edits
-
HibiscusKazeneko
so is HibiscusKazeneko
-
people have ragged on me for it in the past
-
The only times I don't are if I'm adding a URL or a relationship that's glaringly obvious (e.g. a series whose name is part of a title)
-
Freso
Yeah. For many of those, the edit *is* the source. :p
-
HibiscusKazeneko
It took confirmation from nikki for me to figure that out
-
Freso
:)
-
HibiscusKazeneko
Yeah, I used to re-paste URLs into the edit note box, but one day nikki told me this wasn't needed

When it's in the air, you'll know which side you hope it lands on. (And if you don't, just go with the side it actually lands on.)

if a release is single disc, how to avoid tagging disc number and total disc at picard?
-
there should be one script
-
djpretzel joined the channel
-
JonnyJD
portik: why do you want to avoid adding these to the tags?
-
or do you have a tagger script that inludes the disc number in filenames or directories?
-
in the latter case just change the tagger script to only inlude the disc number if the total number is > 1
-
portik
JonnyJD: I use foobar2000 as a media player and if disc number is 1/1 it's annoying
-
JonnyJD
that sounds more of a bug report for foobar
-
put you can strip it using taggerscript too I guess
-
portik
it's not official foobar2000 i use
-
i'm not familiar with scripting
-
JonnyJD
-
portik
well i'm gonna learn, thanks JonnyJD
-
JonnyJD
the script itself is in options->file naming
-
portik
yep :)
-
JonnyJD
hm, not sure if that is the right place, better use options->advanced->scripting
-
not sure if the nameing script is called at the right place to effectively unset tags

I also find 1/2 in discs irritating, also like 3/15 for tracknumber
-
I don't care *how* many it is, just which this particulr one is
-
portik
i like them only when >1
-
that's the way i find missing discs or tracks

well, spotify gave me an invite to their new canadian service now
-
guess I can't complain about them not being in canada any more
-
got to start complaining about their metadata quality or music selection or something instead ;)
-
(they sent me a second code; any other musicbrainzers in canada feel like trying spotify?)

Hmm. it can't maintain a continuous audio stream on an underpowered piece of junk android tablet connected over satellite internet

not sure if that's /really/ something I can complain about.

can it play 720p movies?

yes, but the screen's smaller than 720p.

apparently the hardware video decoder can do 1080p, and it can do 1080p hdmi output

but expect the UI to lag at that video size :/
