Popping and locking have much of the same ancestry and cultural and socio-economic (sociologists just love that term!) background.
-
But they're distinct styles.

STalKer-X
why does isrcsubmit give me 400 Bad Request? =(
-
Freso
STalKer-X: isrcsubmit doesn't work for vinyls.
-
STalKer-X
it's not a vinyl
-
:p
-
Freso
Well, it doesn't work for MC's either.
-
STalKer-X
come closer, young man, i want to hit you with my stick.
-
Freso
Kinky. But no thanks.
-
STalKer-X
it's a CD
-
Freso
Your stick is a CD? Interesting. :D
-
STalKer-X
-
one day i will find you... and.... :D
-
Freso
Well, if all goes according to plan, I will be hosting next year's MB summit with kloeri here in Copenhagen. You're welcome to join us. ;)
-
STalKer-X
that isn't THAT far from here :>
-
maybe isrcsubmit fails because there are changes pending for the release.

STalKer-X: isrcsubmit 400 status sounds like something I have seen
-
-
STalKer-X
it's nonstandard ISRC codes.
-
-
JonnyJD
-
STalKer-X: that looks more like the drive gives you problems
-
the isrc_raw branch of libdiscid might help with these
-
(that one checks the CRC and reads another sector with ISRC when it is wrong)
-
STalKer-X
if you have a binary for me, that would be nice
-
JonnyJD
windows?
-
STalKer-X
yes
-
JonnyJD
-
that should include the discisrc binary also (which can be used by isrcsubmit)
-
STalKer-X
gives the same isrcs as the other one.
-
probably just a crappy disc :)
-
JonnyJD
well, but in that case discisrc should have warned you that the CRC is wrong anyways.
-
If not, this looks "genuinely" like it is "intended" to be that Oo
-
maybe somebody made a mistake including isrcs on the master already
-
STalKer-X
-
JonnyJD
hm, that is similar to what outsidecontext got (the warnings, not the weird ISRCs)
-
that basically means raw isrcs doesn't work on your drive
-
although I don't yet know why that is.
-
possibly a mix with a bad cd and a weird drive/driver
-
using a different drive probably helps, but who except me has multiple cd drives ;-)
-
STalKer-X
i have plenty, but only 3 connected :p

yeah, outsidecontext/phw had these warnings only for one drive, but not the other (same machine, same windows)
-
STalKer-X
well, both of the drives are plextors :)
-
JonnyJD_
hm, I don't know if the make is relevant in this yet
-
JonnyJD_ notes the make in https://github.com/metabrainz/libdiscid/pull/6
