It's pretty typical that the front of the case just says something like "RACHMANINOV", but the back will say "Sergei Rachmaninov" or the like. Myself, I prefer the latter.

If it were, say, David Bowie and the case just said "Bowie", I might credit it as such (or see Brian Eno), but it's pretty conventional for classical music.

well, I noticed e.g. the JASRAC importer userscript automatically sets 'Song' & has a button for language (en/ja), and if the JASRAC entry has no lyricist credit it'll enter "instrumental" in the DA comment & won't set 'Song'
