most files get ID3-data, but one or two files in each album don't get it =/

Mmmm, that's where I run out of ideas. You need to speak to Rob (aka ruaok).

out of 15 albums I ran through musicbrainz, 11 songs did not get ID3-data

is it always the same files that don't get tagged?

yes, if I try to run the same album/songs through MB again, the same files turn out ID3-less

none of the files are read-only, and the renaming works correctly

I'd suggest contacting Rob via one of the three above methods

and tell him all of that stuff you just said

also MB crashes sometimes, especially when I have several albums loaded

other than that MB is GREAT hehe... I got 3500 mp3's (all my cds and more) and none of them have ID3-data, which is kinda important with the media library in winamp =)
