One thing that was lacking in pretty much every client I checked was the "away" flag notification

I like to know when someone is marked "away"

well, you usually only do it on the person you want to talk to :)

in this client, and also in Xchat, the away status is listed in the userlist

so I see right now that _thom_, canidae, Knio-school and Necronom are away

it just seemed like a basic function of an IRC client, and I was very surprised when I found most weren't even aware of it

well, i don't know just how irc works, but i didn't think the server noticed everyone that someone marked themselves as "away", and if that is correct then the client would have to check every person

i'm not away anymore now

checking everyone would send alot of data if you're in a channel with lots of people, i guess

but i have no clue how irc works, so this is pure guessing
