back to mb: what do i do if i have a band called "Tankard" that released some fun albums under the name "Tankwart" - merging the artist would add an alias and the Tankwart releases were listed with the artist name Tankard. So this is no option. And the PerformanceName AR is for persons only and not for bands - so how do I add the information that both bands are one and the same but keeping the releases distinct?

Do someone know why we prune TRM?

take up to much sapce and amek server slow

IMHO nonalbumtracks sould not be included in this prune.. but I don't know how to fix that

1. The TRM server works acceptably is all TRMs are kept in memory.

it starts swapping and slowing if the database exceeds the size of RAM.

Thus we can only keep a few million TRMs

2. We can only do so many lookups per hour.

We can't just add another server to get more lookups.

Its open source.

Everyone can download the index via bittorrent (650MB) and use their own cpu time to tag their collections.

BitTorrent is a lot more scalable.

I've gotten a number of people who have said that they are willin to donate some bittorrent bandwidth for getting the indexes out.
