I was using the labels site a lot as well but hate that many dont have the catalog #'s (just anal about that) where as all mg, discogs & amz typically have it all in 1 place

I really wish more of that was listed.. typically your ean/upc is a sure bet (of course with recent stuff)

Do those dutch artists generally use the same label or various small ones?

Cuz i've emailed a few smaller labels/artists and explained what I was doing giving them MBrainz links and some (not all) actually replied giving me all the info I wanted.. (dates/catalog #'s) etc..

for what artists?

1 off the top of my head was Richard Cheese

is there a convention for listing catalog #'s in MB?

Another was for Benny Benassi (from the label)

Moby & Madonna stuff.. from people that maintain the discogs

its all a crap shoot.. but it cant hurt.. lots of times you get the right person reading the mail and they click the link to Mbrainz and think its cool youll get the info.. Of course dont go asking Sony for all the Columbia catalog listsings or Warner Bros. for all the Reprise ;)

warp: It's not a cast in stone but many of us follow the convention similar to "Label: Warner Bros. - Catalog #: 71713" .. (thats a very general one) In hopes of a auto script being created and sucking all that out of the annotation area when we get those fields created

I find counting the letters in a word much harder than reading them. ;)

Those two words are generally used in similar contexts as in MusicBrainz so I'm pretty sure we got them right.

the easiest way i guess is - annotate is to note and attribute is a characteristic

No I think we should use those words instead... So I dont have to think about it again

'Characteristic' is a long and a bad word.

And annotations would also fit under the definition.

its a lot more cut and dry - characteristic : Being a feature that helps to distinguish a person or thing; (isnt that much better to describe REMIX, live etc..)

I understand he doesnt want to change the structure 50 times.. but certain things need to be added asap or if you keep stacking (relationships) things that need to be done in assocation with.. It will never get done because it will be a huge amount of work..
