I got swamped trying to compile the mess of dependancies libraries required before I could even get Picard to come up

oh, does anyone know if there will be any change in the classical style guide to accomodate SG5DR anytime soon?

or will it be implemented after there is a user-friendly interface to add albums under an artist with different composers for each track. if that's the case is anyone working on the interface?

i have no idea why no one (other than me) cares about the classical sg5dr issue. if i didn't know any better i'd think that i'm expected to change the classical style guide

I had in mind to name the tracks like "AlbumTitle, Part 1" or so ... cause tagging a tarck with "(disc 1)" doesn't sounds well

so it's a programmatic piece (has multiple movements or parts)?

ruaok: Are there no mac ui issues as bugs in this tracker because the fault is thought to lie somewhere outside of picard (eg in wxPython or wxWidgets?)

schika: hmm... i noticed the single track. waht of the music itself? multiple parts? that happens on classical CDs too. multiple parts are encoded as a single track

ruaok: I'm sorry, but that sounds really pessimistic. How can one expect anything to change? I know that the wxWidgets port for Mac is not as robust as other platforms. But I know that devs do appreciate hearing what's important to get working to people using their stuff, so...

after a quick look: track 4 is a mix of an "arrested development" song, which itself was borrowed (housed/bite'd/sampled) from a sly & the family stone tune

there are two tracks with this name on the album, the reprise is the one that got all the club/radio airplay

BGreeNZ, "Merge album attributes" will get the attributes like "Compilation, Official" from both discs - maybe the wrong one you want to merge into an better has correctly set "Compilation" and the other you want to merge into "unknown" then the final get's "Compilation" - but not sure what's the result if both have some different information, like one "Album" and the other "Compilation"

"Leave attributes unchanged; the attributes of all but the top album will be discarded" the attributes from the one you merge into will be used

BTW, that type of jazz is called "chamber jazz". as it follows the structure of european classical chamber quartets, some follow the form more closely than others -- esp MJQ and roger kellaway
