but it takes time to come up with a clean solution
i haven't done any kind of odd hackcs yet in the whole development process
and i won't
if it takes 6 months to come up with a proper solution for something, then it will take that long
we're not planning on releasing BMP 2 anywhere soon
btw it's called BMPx because it's
erm
insta
deadchip: you need to chill out a bit, I'm not bashing anything, and I'm still running bmpx ... it's lasted past the 30-second window of having to wow me, and it's gonna stick around
deadchip
like the about page says
BMPx is the current upstream product from our experimental codebase, that will eventually produce BMP 2.0 (see chapter below). The `bmpx' codebase is also currently being ported to C++, and the final BMP 2.0 will ship as a C++ application using GTKmm.
see we had to develop this openly
developing it behind closed doors is nonsense
but the current code does not qualify by any standards and means as a "pre-BMP 2"
so we call it "BMPx" for now, as the "current upstream product from.." well, what it says above
some features work very well, and are ok, some things are less good
insta: heh ok
well you can try the library and the musicbrainz retagging it's very efficient
insta
should i have done the "retag files and import" option instead of just import?
i kinda jumped the gun
deadchip
well there are 2 ways of importing music
one is just to import it
that imports files as they are first of all
then you can edit the metadata later on
or, if you want to pick a few particular files of which you know they constitute a release
then you use what you just chose
and select them, and then choose the musicbrainz release, and then it retags them first and then imports them
but that's quite tedious if you have really a lot of albums
insta
deadchip: I'm really kinda disappointed with the import speed :(
It doesn't do 110GB over 100mbit network fast enough ;)
deadchip
heh
luks: there is a build system problem in 0.5
luks: it didn't build the tta plugin but it still tries to install it
luks
i know
deadchip
the link in examples/plugins/ is dangling
ok
luks
i'm about to release 0.5.1 this week
deadchip
ok just in case you didn't... know..
tro has quit
luks: under what circumstances would PUID lookup work for one person with the exact same file (note, not just the same track but exactly the same file) and for another person not?
given that support for this filetype has been built with the library (libtunepimp) on both systems
luks
it doesn't generate a PUID or it MB gives you different matches?
deadchip
for me, it returns No PUID
for the other guy, it gives a result for the same track
toxickore has quit
me:
No PUID available for this track.
David:
Artist: 'The Prodigy feat. Max Romeo'
Album: 'Outta Space'
Track: 'Outta Space (Cut 'n Run Booty Space Mix)'
TrackNum: '0'
Duration: '440710'
PUID: 4a46a284-d0e4-ec81-1502-dbc7c6e7c9a8
luks
hm, that's weird
and does it return you puid for some other track?
deadchip
nope
for none so far
i tried with wav and mp3 files
i tried rather common stuff like
from the discovery album by daft punk
luks
that it could be a problem of the libtp install
deadchip
i didn't even think this track above there ^^^
would be registered at all
luks: what should i check for?
luks: well it does do somethin
+g
luks
maybe stupid question, but is the mp3 plugin compiled correctly?
deadchip
it's not like it returns immediatly and says "No PUID"
luks: humm
let me check
luks
the puid app should give you a list of supported formats
the fingerpring for them should be eAS4eV8IndxzXF1scRhvWDMYHfAnkDDIIgRHjCdoJeAvzBPQHBhDEBpwMyAsABjwFEwPSBDoDlQLPAjoCIQIlAkkCCAIxAiwCNAJAAjACHwHnkbw1nRrEC5YGevNX9Gv7X/8l/r//4/2D/R78kP1z+nYAaP6c+l4A8vpG/Y//aQAkAC3/lv/NABD/uQA0/+T/v/+S/77/1f/O/9r/6//s//EokSwUA0kI0QBP53XMKPfK+Oj25/Wu9ZbPZ/FT7/fpBfq88g3He/Ba47nj4/Vo+d76MPYA+Wv8EP5B/lX+P/6J/hL94f1i/i/+Nv4X/mf+TO+H6yoGcALhE6dn/xcmAJ8CT/8cEBr/UOFT9pXzufoj
