if that was the case

at least for jazz, remasters are generated from the original master tape of the recording, often the original master has to be massaged a bit (due to oxidation or whatever). but it's the original recording. but due to limitations of vinyl or 78 (duration of entire album), alternate takes are added to fill current CD duration ~78-84 minutes

but alternate takes are not always added, i have many re-masterd CDs that contain no additional material

(I happen to have caught an ear infection as well, so I have to take drops there as well. Whee.)

eh, that's "pinkeye" as we call it here. quite common, and very curable -- annoying though

you need rest, and avoid contact with small children. I swear toddlers are the true "weapons of mass destruction" -- pure germ/bacteria carriers :)
