Anyone help with an annotation question?

I've been asked on a new release I've entered to add an annotation of publisher and catalogue number

However, all there is on the CD / cover is a bar code, and a logo

along with the description of the tracks, title, copyright statement etc.

should have the label somewhere on the release, unless its a bootleg

That's what I thought, but the back of the CD (the data side) doesn't look like a CD-R to me.

And the insert looks professionally produced to me, not just something that someone's run off on their own printer

is the music publisher credited? and the copyright owner?

Not as far as I can see.

But from what I can gather, this is a 'special' CD produced for a nightclub

So what should I do, change the release type to bootleg?

yes. add a note in the annotation it has no label or cat number

Well, I've added an annotation, and changed the release to 'I don't know'.

I've included that freedb link in the annotation

I wouldn't. freedb is proof of nothin, anyone can enter anything there

But that page looks to be a rip direct from a CD

shouldn't MB not use accented letters? it can cause issues with some tags and make it harder to search ie. C�line Dion instead of Celine Dion

Add a ~ after Céline, ie. Céline~ Dion.

I'd think C�line Dion should be listed as the alias

that release just didn't look right to me :)

It doesn't look like a bootleg to me (CD looks like a 'real' one and the insert looks professional)

But as you say, I can't find a reference to that release anywhere except freedb

actually, is there a setting in picard to have it use un-accented versions of accented letters in the tags? that would fix the issues :b

I've just had to add something to flactag for when it builds filenames from tags

denormalizing the unicode string, and filtering only alphanumeric characters

don't call me stupid and I wasn't mqking 'os war'
