but is the "big four" record labels imposing on the publics right to access to other material by other artists? are they imposing on the rights of other artists who want people to hear their music but cannot have it heard because of the restrictions put in place on radio stations, etc?

it's like the sample booths in stores, except you're not limited to the 10 CDs, 9 of which the big 4 are paying to be in the booths

I want the CD physically, if its a good band ,i want to support them, because cd is better quality

well, when I say "buying cds", I mean however - emusic, itunes, cds, etc

quality, support, possibly artwork.. we like to have a "cd collection"

i tend to only buy physical cds anymore if either the band is so obscure/unknown that the cd is cheap and I can buy right from them, or if the booklet is so full of info, it's worth it.

catgroove: all it takes is one little scratch through the reflective stuff and your cd is f-ed

CD sitting in my car, in a stack of 5 or 10, they rub together and scratch...

hell, I put all of them in those 100 CD books for a while - the plastic itself scratched the cds badly over time

the one was a used one so I got new, the second was me trowing it really hard on the ground (:P) bot thimes they completely broke

contrary to popular belief the scratches on the bottom are a lot less harmful than scratches on the printed side

well I once bought a release, and itwas borked inside

(like after I took of the plastic and put it in the player)

but since I had a stack of unlistened too it was old (maye 2-3 months since I bought it)

so I couldn't very well go back with 'itwas broken from scratch'

had no recet either

I like digital too, cause I can do to it what I want.

Don't have to switch CDs in the player, just hit enter on a different file. If I can get better metadata, I can add it.

just put that in whatever music spamming script you are using, possibly enclosing the rest of the string in $utfencode() to get the whole thing to be one big uft8 line
