        i tend to only buy physical cds anymore if either the band is so obscure/unknown that the cd is cheap and I can buy right from them, or if the booklet is so full of info, it's worth it.

        catgroove: all it takes is one little scratch through the reflective stuff and your cd is f-ed

        CD sitting in my car, in a stack of 5 or 10, they rub together and scratch...
      • hell, I put all of them in those 100 CD books for a while - the plastic itself scratched the cds badly over time

        contrary to popular belief the scratches on the bottom are a lot less harmful than scratches on the printed side

      • (like after I took of the plastic and put it in the player)
      • but since I had a stack of unlistened too it was old (maye 2-3 months since I bought it)
      • so I couldn't very well go back with 'itwas broken from scratch'
