how can you handle that many subscriptions?

depends how active they are

I have about 8000 and about 20 edited artists a day

I stopped subscribing to artists though

ok, so you go through the mail and check some artist edits there?

but you never can go through all edits

I go through and see if any of the artists I care about have been changed

most of them I ignore

(applied edits, I mean)

otherwise I just the open edits for your subscribed artists thingy

about 90% of the edits on my subscribed are by me, I get very few other peoples edits per day. average 5-10

My subscriptions are pretty quiet as well, when I'm not working on them myself.

I have a menu item "module/%content_type/%content_id/%operation" - should those "%foo" be "%" instead? How do I validate/run checks on the wildcards? How do I change 'page callback' depending on the request?

maybe changing the album to one of the mb test artist albums?

it used to be that you could add the bogus asin, then cancel the edit

petros: if you do, try to set the data quality low and definitely make note of it in the annotation.

petros: i'm generally in favour of adding releases as early as possible, many other people frown on it, some may even vote no.

Oh, _I_ havent done it. I just wanted to know how to handle it in the best way possible instead of voting it down 'because of slightly sloppy research from the submitter.

I don't agree with as early as possible, too early and there's a decent risk of huge changes or it not even being released at all

with 'as early as possible' i do mean the release should exist, e.g. in the form of a promo. no point in adding stuff to mb which does not exist.

but I'd definitely say voting something down the day before because it's not yet released would be really silly

Seeing as I've pre-ordered the release there's little change it will go uncorrected in this case, so the discussion is mostly academic ;)

This ain't no promo. This is a releases added based on a - slightly differentiated - tracklisting and pending release date.

petros: indeed it looks like that hasn't leaked onto the internet, atleast not in the parts I frequent.

I can see a few errors in it. 1) The actual release date is _slightly_ different and 2) Some titles are lacking.

The lack of an edit note also bugs me.

is it ok now to add ARs to the release level if the booklet doesn't tell you exactly on what tracks someone performed? How did that discussion turn out?

BrianFreud: check out some of the recent changes to http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/CSGStandard/Beethoven - I ran a few REs on the titles to make them consistent

and also moved things around a little so we have "WORKTYPE for INSTRUMENTS No. WORKTYPE+INSTRUMENTS# in KEY"
