brianfreud: sorry, i don't know what you mean.
      • brianfreud
      • warp
        i don't see any unlock all checkbox/button
      • brianfreud
the "Edit all Track Artists" is down at bottom atm
      • warp
(it's also not my bug, i don't remember this ever annoying me :)
      • ah, right
      • brianfreud
        aren't you aka Kilu ?
      • warp
        nooooo
      • brianfreud
oh, doh, thought you were :D
      • warp
i am work, my real name (and mb user account) is Kuno.
      • s/work/warp/
      • brianfreud
doh, I read Kilu and Kuno :P
      • warp
well, real, real, what's real? but my parents call me Kuno :)
      • brianfreud

      • navap
Can we have a per track revert? So one could use Guess All, and then revert 1 or 2 individual tracks?
      • brianfreud
Haven't gotten that far at all, with GC, but yeah, I agree that'd be nice
      • just don't also want to overload the interface
      • warp hopes ruaok hires a competent interaction designer some day :)
      • maybe change the GC button to a revert button once GC is used? Does anyone other than me ever use the Guess Case button multiple times?
      • (for tracks, I mean)
      • my own pet peeve is sentence case being applied to artist names
      • Muz
warp: once TT is done, branch it and make your own frontend to the data! It'll be easier than on the Mason branch...
      • navap
I use it on individual tracks, which means multiple uses
      • nikki
the only time I've needed it is when I had the wrong capitalisation set
      • to press it more than once, I mean
      • warp
Muz: _I_ don't need another interface, i've been using this one for a while and know where everything is.
      • brianfreud
the way I'm thinking to implement the interface, though, I'll be separating artist fields from track fields, so current case setting is applied to tracks, while "artist name case" hits artist fields
      • Muz
I still think that the site could do with a nice overhaul. Right from the ground up at some point.
      • navap
huh, why would anyone need to GC an artist?
      • brianfreud
        exactly
      • set GC to sentence case atm. It'll sentence case unlocked artist names
      • navap
Oh, so you're fixing the problem then
      • brianfreud
yes, I think my implementation will do that.
      • nikki
I think only the edit artist screen should change the artist case, editing the case from the edit all page wouldn't really do much
      • brianfreud
Separate time fields too, so "fix times" can do things like period --> :
      • navap
The track parser already does that though.
      • brianfreud
        no, it doesn't
      • navap
        Oh..h
      • brianfreud
it parses 1.11 to 1.11, :54 to :54... It should parse them to 1:11 and 0:54
      • navap
        hm
      • Kerensky97
I must really be out of it. How do you lock artist names?
      • outsidecontext has left the channel
      • brianfreud
the little button on the left, same as on live
      • Though normally, you'd be locking them via the lookup script - it's just not implemented yet.
      • MrEIso has quit
      • nikki shakes her head at the weird capitalisation of the stuff at the top of that page
      • navap
You mean like, "Check For Duplicates"?
      • nikki
        no
      • I mean like "if you have chosen to display the Track Artists"
      • Kerensky97
"Language" in "Language,Script" is still the language the titles are in, not the language sung, correct?
      • nikki
        yes
      • it wouldn't make much sense to pair the language of the audio with the script of the track titles

        hey?
      • nikki can't seem to find anything which lists what sort of values will be returned :/
      • FauxFaux
        Returns win32 on win64.

nikki: sounds like a bad way to go about things
      • what do you need it for?
      • nikki
I want to do one thing in windows and another in any other os
      • FauxFaux
        >.<
      • nikki
        really :P
      • warp
        sys.exit() on windows? :)
      • LotR
heh, some perl module defines a constant and then does if (RUNNING_IN_HELL) to find out if they're running on win :)
      • navap
Apparently a realease with tracks, "Part I" through "Part XI" is guessed as Lithuanian.
      • Muz
        O SO FUNNI
      • warp
nikki: anyway, my point is that it sounds a bit like for example user agent checking in javascript. should instead just test for whatever you actually need on the platform.
      • nikki
warp: well, I'm converting fullwidth tildes to wave dashes in osx/linux and wave dashes to fullwidth tildes in windows
      • LotR
        warp: that's not always possible...
      • nikki
I don't really fancy writing something to convert the shift-jis codepoint to unicode just to see which platform it is
      • LotR
warp: for example, fork() sucks on windows, but it still exists, so yes you do want to check if you're running on windows
      • ruaok joined the channel
      • nikki
well it's only a simple picard plugin so that instead of getting a mixture of characters, it's always the character the os uses

      • nikki: ok, that makes sense.

      • LotR
nikki: you're a veritable well of wells ;)
      • warp
ok, putting windows 7 on this eeepc was not the best idea. it can't run most of the stuff i'm trying to run on it :)
      • nikki
        hah
      • warp
i'll try to get xp on it soonish.
      • Kerensky97
Win 7 on my EEE works great.
      • Better than Vista.
      • nikki
        you got one then?
      • Kerensky97
Yeah, right before they announce our jobs were going out the door. :P
      • But I can't part with it now.
      • warp
Kerensky97: most of the games I try don't run. and I don't need windows for anything else.
      • Kerensky97
Oh. I haven't put any games on yet so that could be why.
      • LotR
'better than vista' equals great? your standards are *so* low
      • Kerensky97
        :P
      • warp
it's pretty slow too, ofcourse that's mostly down to the hardware. but I am curious now how XP will run on it.
      • Kerensky97
Vista is better than XP, Win7 is better than Vista (on an EEEPC). Therefore Win7>
      • CatCat
        XP is betterthan vista
      • also what about mac music toys?
      • Kerensky97
Only if you have an old computer that can't handle vista. In which case XP is much better.
      • LotR
CatCat: steve orders you to use itunes :)
      • Kerensky97
        :)
      • CatCat
        LotR: what?
      • who the heck is steve?
      • Kerensky97
        Steve Jobs
      • CatCat
        ok
      • Kerensky97
        Ruler of Mac
      • CatCat

      • CatCat

      • LotR: please quit it
      • ruaok
