I'd like to submit more, this is not the first attempt on my part to try
reosarevok: it says "Track 1"... do I need to retype it?
reosarevok
hawke_, ping
hawke_
reosarevok: pong
reosarevok
Maybe you can help him there (if you use soundjuicer)
luks
there is no discid yet
you have to submit it first
hawke_
mick_laptop: You don’t need to fill out the info, just do "submit track names" from the disc menu
That should take you to the right web page where you can now search for the release and find it, since you added it now.
reosarevok
mick_laptop, from my side (database): I apparently have found that the album is performed by "Don Campbell". Can you confirm? And if you can, what did he play, piano? :)
mick_laptop
The Childrens Group has no releases which have 8 tracks.
reosarevok
Search under Mozart
With the title The Mozart Effect, Volume 1: Tune Up Your Mind (The Childrens Group)
mick_laptop
have you searched Mozart? look at that list... ಠ_ಠ
mick, you should get to a place that allows searching by release name
nikki joined the channel
"The Mozart Effect: Music for Children, Volume 1: Tune Up Your Mind"
Makes the right one show up ;)
hawke_
you type in “The Mozart Effect: Music for Children, Volume 1: Tune Up Your Mind” (or just “the mozart effect”) into the Search by release field which you have.
and yeah, you get one option if you fill in the full name or 3 if you do just "the mozart effect"
mick_laptop
I'm on their release page
and under disc ids
there is no "add discid" though
reosarevok
Yeah
hawke_
mick_laptop: Go to that URL you pasted
the /cdtoc/attach?id=aefawfwaefwaefawefewa one
mick_laptop
k
hawke_
You should get “There are currently no discs in MusicBrainz associated with the information you provided. You can search for the disc you are looking for using the forms below, or you may add a new release to MusicBrainz”
and then a couple of places to fill information in.
You mentioned getting redirected though, that shouldn’t happen.
mick_laptop
that didn't happen again
hawke_
Alright. so you have the "search by artist" and "search by release" entries?
mick_laptop
i searched and i found it - i can "attach a tOC" or adda new release
found it after looking for release
hawke_
Should be pretty straightforward from there. "attach a TOC" if it’s the right one (same barcode)
mick_laptop
OOOOH!
I thought TOC == table of contents
hawke_
it does.
mick_laptop
like for thelittle booklet
hawke_
Nope.
TOC is CD TOC
the number of tracks and how many samples long each one is, pregap, etc.
reosarevok links the recordings in that release to the right Mozart works in the meantime
reosarevok: Good luck with that. ;-)
reosarevok
Not too hard
As long as I won't start doing the mergings
(PS: I won't)
Vorpal joined the channel
mick_laptop
awesome
worked
thanks reosarevok / hawke_
hawke_
mick_laptop: NP. Hopefully any future adds you do go more smoothly. :-)
reosarevok
mick_laptop, if you wait a couple minutes before tagging
mick_laptop
an intro video would be nice on the front page
reosarevok
You will get the composer tags filled
(if the tagger allows it and you want them ;) )
hawke_
reosarevok: It occurs to me that the discID submit interface should provide full details (barcode, etc), not just a track listing.
mick_laptop
I'm going to start putting some more up
hawke_
I don’t think sound juicer uses the composer tag
mick_laptop
I'll be using the web interface though
and just use sound juicer to get the discid
any commandline apps that do that?
hawke_
Not that I know of.
nikki
to get the lookup url?
mick_laptop
just theid
to submit via the web interface
nikki
well libdiscid has some example program which fetches the id and prints out the url to open
hawke_
You can use sound juicer to start the submit process…just after you do a search, if you don't find anything choose "add a new release" instead of attaching a TOC to an existing release.
