      • nikki
no, he's just finally getting round to getting some proper furniture
      • so finally moving in, you might say :P
      • CatCat
        cool
      • luks_
        hawke_1: yep
      • hawke_1
luks_: Just wondering if you had any idea what was up with the musicbrainz/acoustID integration userscript…
      • luks_: and/or if you saw the issue I entered in github about it
      • luks_
I saw the issue, but didn't have much time to look at it yet

can anyone tell me if http://musicbrainz.org/url/02bd45b2-f1b3-45bc-9... is correct? I just get "We're sorry, the document you requested is not available in your country." so I have no idea what it is
      • reosarevok
        US-only
      • hawke_1
        nikki: The angryfolk band…
      • reosarevok
        I think
      • hawke_1
“The Angryfolk Band does not exist. It is the name used for anything produced from the creative efforts of the Angryfolk.com studio.”
      • reosarevok
Should we be linking to region-locked shit?
      • hawke_1
There is one song available for purchase
      • reosarevok: No opinion on that.
      • This web store is retarded though…
      • purchase one track for $0.49, or the entire album of one track for $0.99!
      • I’ll be getting right on that
      • reosarevok
        lol
      • reosarevok is reminded of an offer in a Spanish supermarket once
      • CallerNo6
If you were a true completist, you'd do it.
      • reosarevok
Cola can for 33 cents! Special offer, get 3 for 1€!
      • nikki
uk supermarkets love offers like that
      • not that they admit it when people who can do maths complain
      • warp
I've seen coke can 6-packs for more than the price of 6 cans in dutch supermarkets.
      • I assume that sort of stuff happens everywhere.
      • CallerNo6
the whole is more than the sum of the parts?
      • CallerNo6 tries to look on the bright side if only for a minute
      • CatCat
[22:05] reosarevokShould we be linking to region-locked shit?
      • @I say NO
      • if 90% of the countries i nthe world can't accsess it, what's the point?
      • is that right? http://musicbrainz.org/edit/17035230 (didn't we have a separate last.fm ulr now)
      • url even
      • nikki
we don't have a separate type for last.fm, no
      • CatCat
        hmm
      • but we allow linking now?
      • kepstin would vote no to that, because it's no more useful than an automated link by name.
      • kepstin
        hmm.
      • well, it does have tracks that they've apparently posted.
      • CatCat
AHAHA i tried 11.67on the intel just now
      • yea i'm not updating
      • no
      • tried dragging tabs between windows, no crashing, but it auto stacks
      • it's bad enough how 10.60 starts printing when i use "preview"
      • atleast 10.10 doesn't do that
      • and i tried 12 alpha!
      • uh, so the skins are going away and now there are "themes" yea, i have no use ofr colourful backround images, i want icons that are not jsut grey on grey os i cant tell them apart
      • but apperantly can't has
      • hopefully it might be better
      • AND WHY FOES OPERA.COM SHOW ME JAPANESE WHEN I CHOSE "NORWEGIAN" ?????
      • nikki
Wizzcat said an option to disable tab grouping is still "future" and that ruby is still unscheduled, so I'm not even going to bother trying 12 alpha :P
      • CatCat
        heh
      • nikki
Wizzcat: oh, and total sadface at ruby still being unscheduled :( it's not just IE any more, webkit can too! >(
      • CatCat
is this ruby-> stuff ontop of kanji?
      • not ruby-> scripth stuff
      • nikki
sort of, it's what you use to write the stuff on top of kanji (aka furigana) in html
      • CatCat
        yea that's what i meant
      • nikki
and no, not the script stuff :)
      • CatCat
        i remember
      • maybe for fun and lols i'll download a really crapp early version like 6
      • see wtf stuff looks liek with it
      • ZaphodBeeblebrox
        "Opera 7 series
      • ork, Bork! "
      • lol
      • CatCat
oh so the javascript engine in 10 is "futark" while in 10.50+ is "carakan"
      • hmm that might explain some stuff
      • nikki
heh, I remember the bork version XD
      • CatCat
aw man I wish i had known of opera before
      • it's. yea
      • nikki
        my first version was 3.62
      • nikki shows her age ¬_¬
      • it was pretty bad. but fast. and fit on a floppy disk.
      • and I loved the whole tabs in a window idea
      • CatCat
        giggle
      • actually, opera headquarters isn't far from wher i live
      • i go past it on the bus every time to school
      • nikki
I remember it didn't support arbitrary words as colour names, so when people wrote something like <font color="letsseewhatthisis"> and got something like light yellow, I would get black. that meant that loads of things were black on black and I had to turn off styling for most sites to work
      • CatCat
i've bee nthinking about pttign a postit on the door or something t othe effect of "hello opera, you amke a fantastic browser, pelase enable "tab grouping on/off" :D"
      • nikki
        haha
      • CatCat
        it's worth a sot

      • ianmcorvidae joined the channel
      • ok so now it is impossible to remove a musicbrainz tag fro ma file
      • not cool you guys
      • using on the latest with both regular and bitmapdiff
      • try removing the mb ids and save and it doesn't happen
      • "save tags" is checked
      • Mineo
      • CatCat
still "clear exsisting tags" needs checking
      • then it works
      • jcazevedo joined the channel
      • nope, reverse
      • luks_
was it ever possible to not save mbids when using picard?
      • CatCat
this is trying to remove something, clicking "save"looking on the file and it is removed, but on next readd to picard, has this removed stuff
      • no
      • only "not tags"
      • luks_
does it work with clear existing tags checked?
      • CatCat
        yes
      • luks_
        then it works as expected
      • CatCat
but aperantly brickas problems isn't solved by that
      • luks_
his problem is that no tags get saved
      • CatCat
to you what wrote it, ni bert it does, to someone else it is puzzeling that "clear exsisting tags" need to be checked for "removed tags" isn't saved
      • it's "check this or removing tags no matter if they are fro mthe files before ,or saved earlier by this program" won't be saved
      • not quite the same, semantically
      • clear existing to me means "blank completely before writign new tags"
      • luks_
        but that's the same
      • CatCat
(wich is why i am careful with it as it also blanks out tags i don't want it to, eg genre, comments etc)
      • luks: no, it's not it really isn't
      • i na coding point of view i understand that it is
      • luks_
well, the way picard works it's impossible to know which tags do you want to get removed
      • CatCat
its what it "does" or soemsuch
      • the ones i remove using "dlete" :)
      • luks_
it only knows which tags you currently have in the window
      • CatCat
        delete
      • double clik it and lots ot tags show up
      • and you can remove or add more
      • luks_
no, that doesn't work, because you are not editing the file's tags, you are editing the tags from musicbrainz
      • CatCat
        anything added is kept
      • luks_
you don't necessarily have them in your files
      • CatCat
        anything removed isn't
      • wait whaqt
      • nikki
luks_: doesn't picard basically rewrite the entire set of tags?
      • CatCat
i'm prettu sure they are in the files or how else would the progrsm know that it has it?
      • luks_
        nikki: yes
      • CatCat
exactly, it rewrites, where i understand why "clear" first does it so that mbids are removed
      • luks_
CatCat: picard doesn't care what's in your files
      • what you are editing in the window comes from MB, not your files
      • CatCat
but if i remove mbids fro mthe "more stuffwindow" it should remember that
      • it's not a window it's a dialogue boc
      • box
      • luks_
it does, and accordingly it doesn't write it to the file
      • CatCat
i don't understadn you at all right now luks
      • nikki
so really when we say "delete this tag", we mean "don't write this tag when rewriting them, whether it was in the original tags or not"
      • CatCat
        yea!
      • wich to someon who sees this tag i nthe window assumign it's i nthe tags of the file will expect this behaviour when removign that tag, (eve nif that tag isn't i nthe file?)
      • luks_
        picard users shouldn't expect that
      • picard is not a tag editor :)
      • CatCat
well exuse me for not knowing something liek that wich seems as if its what it is
      • nikki
it does let you edit tags though :P it just seems unbalanced that you can add or edit tags but it has no idea how to remove one
      • CatCat
given behaviour prior and what i have understood up til now
      • what nikki saying
      • exactly
      • luks_
I agree that it could work if you don't match your files to MB at all
      • then it can remember what was in the file and track your deletes
      • but I don't see how it could work for MB tags
