It isnt that I like it too much. It is inevitable that I would have to move on. In a way, Picard tasks give me more time to pick up on my other skills so I could diversify my compatible tasks while remaining productive.
dpmittal
Ohh
CallerNo6
opatel99, have you got to the point where you're ready to propose your own tasks?

CallerNo6: For Picard? The code base is a force of nature. I am still surprised at what I can find throughout it
I have used it extensively, however. Maybe user interface tasks, but nothing major.
Perhaps if I get a chance to mentor next year, I can do that.
CallerNo6
Well, don't let yourself get bored, that's all I'm saying :-)
opatel99
CallerNo6: Well I have been trying the same task for a few days now. I dont want to abandon it, but I fix one thing, another problem arises.

Welcome to the world of software development. ;)

I'm not convinced that showing closed subscription edits is at all useful. :-/
Leftmost
I use it.
hawke
heh
I find it overwhelming to deal with the quantity of edits involved and hard to keep track of where I am as I go through. There's no way to "mark as read" or anything.
Leftmost
I definitely think it should be possible to only show open edits, but it should still be possible to show all edits as well.
reosarevok
I think "mark as read" is in the works too
bitmap would be able to confirm
But dunno
I generally look at subs from my mail links, so I see all edits
And except in a couple of cases (Liszt mostly) it's useful
hawke
Unrelated: Anyone have an opinion on whether a prerecorded tape played back during a live performance is considered "live"?
reosarevok
With Liszt there's just too much stuff going on, open or not
heh
Well they perform tape works at concerts so I guess? It would be considered a "premiere" after all
(if it was the first time)

invertedbob
Hello :)
darwin
hi
hi pop
hawke
and if so, it it a live performance of the tape's contents on the date of the live performance? or is the performance on a different previous date?
invertedbob
I'm working on a GCI task and I need a hand
opatel99
invertedbob: Shoot.
invertedbob
The task I'm working on is importing my library using beets.
hawke: we should have a way to mark reviewed edits sometime in january, I hope
hawke
kepstin: Does it electrocute anyone who presses "save" when the loudness is too high?
invertedbob
Okay, that helps :) Thankss @opatel99
darwin
invertedbob: fwiw, I can answer questions about beets, also there is #beets
hawke
bitmap: how about flagging edits for followup / marking as important?
invertedbob
I'll work on it and let you guys know if something goes wrong at some point
bitmap
hawke: hmm, if it's simple perhaps, I'll keep it in mind :)
CallerNo6
If there's no link to the beets project in the task descriptions, we should add that.
hawke
bitmap: If that were possible I would love it -- I so often come across edits that I can't or shouldn't vote no on but which have some problem which should be resolved after the original edit is applied...
opatel99
CallerNo6: It exists
bitmap
sounds like we're getting dangerously close to 'edit tags'
reosarevok
Yup, I'd also like that :p
(the option, not necessarily edit tags :p)
CallerNo6
cool, thanks opatel99
hawke
bitmap: I don't know about that, I wouldn't feel any need to classify them beyond 'this needs to be looked at again later'
bitmap
alright, that's workable
invertedbob
So, I installed pip, when I run get-pip.py terminal window opened, installed pip successfully, then closed itself.
darwin
invertedbob: what OS/environment?
invertedbob
Windows 10
CMD window*
darwin
I personally would install cygwin if I were using windows, but I don't know how well maintained it is these days.
hawke
e.g that one I just linked, https://musicbrainz.org/edit/36313706 -- It's already applied so I can't vote no on it, but I don't have any way to find it again other than hoping I notice it if/when jesus2099 replies and/or if I get some opinions here.
reosarevok
It worked fine last time I used it, but then that was basically just to SSH into my sandbox
So dunno how much that counts :p
invertedbob
@darwin, got Cygwin
darwin
invertedbob: ok, try doing the install within cygwin
invertedbob
Alright, installation almost finished.
darwin: How do I get python to work within cygwin ?
darwin
invertedbob: you have to install it via setup.exe, or via apt-cyg if that works anymore.
