I usually clean up copied tracklists in a text editor before pasting into the track parser.

Question regarding Adding releses: Best practice to add tack number ? I like to pad track number to 2 digit, ie 00,01,02.. Is this accepted ?

Just leave it as 1, 2, 3, etc. You can pad it at a later stage (e.g. Picard)

dixoncx: On a release page, in the right column is a link towards the bottom "Edit relationships"...it's a new system--I haven't tried it myself, but it looks good.

But adding meta-data to local files through picard is much easy compared to adding them in website..:(

I want to add relationship: 'Release' was composed by 'Artist'. I cant find 'Composition' sub-category in for 'Recording'. But its available for 'Release'.

A work is an entity that represents the composition...the recording is a performance of that composition

in the relationship editor, you should see "← Add related work →"?

you can use that to find an existing work, or create a new one...then link it to that recording...then, you should be able to add relationships to that work in the "Related works" column

Did you add a work for one of the recordings? If you do, you should be able to add a composer to that work in the right column...it will apply only for that track (because of the work--recording relationship)

then, you have to add a work for each of the other recordings and add composers to each of those works, too

dixoncx: Yes, I think it should definitely if they choose "use track relationships".

(That's an option under "Metadata")

dixoncx: Picard's database? You would have to right click the release in Picard and press "refresh" after you make the changes in MB.

dixoncx: If you're making new additions, they'll take effect straight away. Though usually if you're editing an existing relationship or other data, there's a two week (maximum) voting period before the change is made.

The URL relationship shouldn't be used any more...you should upload them through the "cover art" tab. It only supports JPG right now, though. The higher quality/size the better (it also resizes to 500px/250px)!

No, that's the language that the release and track titles are printed in :) ... you can specify the lyric language on the work

if the song was translated, you'd make a new work for the translation and link the works together

Yeah.

I don't mind doing the scanning work, but I don't like spending time in image editors. :p

I have somewhat of the opposite problem in that I dislike the scanning but am better at the image editor work
