I got mine for getting mails on the go when I was working on translation
      • Of course, by Murphy's law, I stopped getting work shortly afterwards
      • But still, it is nice

oh, what do you know. I was looking at the website; but the album art for this release says "Air" Orchestral Suide No 3 in D major, BWV 1068(#13) Composed: Johann Sebastian Bach
      • so, yeah.
      • atila has left the channel
      • why the credit on the website is incomplete and japanese, and the credit on the album art is verbose and english, I'll never know.
      • reosarevok
        Well
      • I've found label websites that give the name of a release wrong

kepstin: I'd probably use "additionally composed" for Bach.
      • kepstin
yeah, I dunno whether "additional" is appropriate in this case. It might be.
      • basically, the arranger Morrigan took a modern pop song and some classical music and mashed them together into a new song :/
      • symphonick
        Hmm. AR hell :-(
      • If it's not a remix, I'd use composer=Morrigan & additional composer for the others.

NGS = "next generation" server, correct?
      • reosarevok
        scheme
      • Yeah
      • kepstin
        "schema", actually. Database terminology :/
      • reosarevok
        lol, yeah, typo there
      • petteyg
is multiple artists per track a future feature?
      • kepstin
petteyg, kind of. NGS supports artist credits, which allow you to link multiple artists to a track in a formatted way.
      • petteyg
I finally found the sql file in the git, I'm reading it now :)

petteyg, you can talk a look at http://test.musicbrainz.org/ as well; the NGS code is running there and you are free to experiment with and test the new features
      • reosarevok
Mind you it doesn't have *all* what will be on the finished NGS
      • petteyg
If I ever get postgres working on my system, I might contribute an occasional line of code :)

      • Is there any way to import a release into another release? I've got two Mozart discs, neither of which are in FreeDB or MB, but the same discs were part of a many-volume set, so the metadata I need is already there, if only there's a way to copy it.
      • kepstin
petteyg, the user interface for that on the NGS server is still a work in progress.
      • On the current stable server, you probably just want to add a new release event to the existing release.
      • reosarevok
        Yep
      • petteyg
        It's a different release, though
      • reosarevok
Adding a note with the name of the release
      • petteyg
        Isn't it?\
      • reosarevok
        *an annotation
      • A different release event is actually a different release
      • Kind of
      • In NGS they will get separated
      • So you'll have 2 releases instead of one with 2 release events
      • petteyg
It's this 2-disc set: http://musicbrainz.org/show/release/?releaseid=... but it doesn't show anything about being part of the "complete" set on the sleeve or insert
      • different catalog number
      • and different title
      • reosarevok
Add a new release event, with the info for your CDs (label, cat#, barcode, etc)
      • And add to the annotation "Also released as a standalone 2-CD release, under the title: 'title' "
      • Sorry
      • "Also released as a standalone 2-CD release, under the title: 'title', with cat#: whatever "
      • petteyg
        okay
      • reosarevok
When NGS comes they'll be separated and we can change the name of that one to the correct one
      • kepstin
petteyg, also take a look at http://musicbrainz.org/doc/What_Defines_A_Uniqu... for our current guidelines
