Well, the easiest way would be to select the unmatched files and click "Analyze" on the toolbar

mind you though, i have an own MB/PUID based retagger *written* myself in our app

i just want to say, i know how this stuff all works in the backend

Well, if "Analyze" works, the songs should be moved to albums on the right side. It might make some mistakes though, and it might not work

then it creates an album tree branch at the right hand side, if not already existing, and places the track in there

in my tagger, people can, if they want to, select a matching release manually

No, if that doesn't work, then click the track and click "Lookup"

Then a web browser should open, and you can select an album there by clicking the "Tagger" icons that should appear on the web site

That adds the album to the right side

ok, that means that track wasn't found when matching for puids

so it either matched to a different release, on the right, or it's still in the list on the left

Yeah. If you can find the missing track on the left, you can drag/drop it to the track on the right

either way if you find it you can drag it to that spot

ok, so if you drag it over, assuming that MusicIP has seen that track at least once before, it now will have a puid, and the "Submit PUIDs" button up top will light up

As for the icon question, the green bars represent how close a match picard thinks it is. If it's green and full, it's likely a correct match

Note that at least on my system, that bit is buggy and it sometimes gives full green bars erroneously

track "01" doesn't seem to match very well to track "1"

well PUID calculation is by my experience like 99% correct always anyway

i wrote a gstreamer element to calculate PUIDs using libofa, and it just sometimes fails to find a PUID even if it seems to exist for that track

very very rarely, but it sometimes happens

i've seen it happen lots of times

i think libofa is buggy

i think it can't cope with audio files with a frequency above 44.1k
