should work out great then. :-)
      • krazykiwiMB
(germans always think i am being sarcastic when i say that)
      • ruaok
        not this one...
      • krazykiwiMB
what is with all these people putting their mix tapes in the db
      • seems to have just started heh
      • very odd
      • yllona
/me heads to cookingbrainz to discuss her lunch of smoked trout, heirloom tomatoes, cottage cheese & multi-grain wasa
      • oops
      • no use eating & typing ;)
      • yllona heads to cookingbrainz to discuss her lunch of smoked trout, heirloom tomatoes, cottage cheese & multi-grain wasa
      • krazykiwiMB
        i'm not convinced about multi-grain wasa :)
      • yllona
krazykiwiMB: i like it a lot. i enjoy *crunch*, and the flavor is quite robust
      • hawke_ joined the channel
      • krazykiwiMB
i was thinking it's probably a weak imitation of real knäckebröd
      • yllona looks up knäckebröd
      • but then realised, it's actually what I bought last week for the short kid, who won't eat real knäckbröd anyway
      • hard bread
      • yllona
ah.. yes it's hard bread. we get some really good versions here.
      • krazykiwiMB
we buy it in giant round discs here, I was quite mystified what it might be when i first encountered it
      • and asked my mother in law if it was perhaps some kind of disposable thing to stand hot pots on (hey! that's kinda what it looks like!)
      • yllona
not that i've moved back into teh city proper, i can get all that stuff fresh from local bakers
      • ruaok was fed knäckbröd plenty as a kid
      • krazykiwiMB
        so are my kids :)
      • but one is going through a stage of "I can't eat anything that everyone else in the family eats, and that i've eaten my entire life"
      • and i choose my battles, knäckebröd not being one of them
      • yllona
even the super market versions are decent == wasa
      • krazykiwiMB
yeah, wasa is the handy dandy square and fits in lunchboxes supermarket grab here too :)
      • cos you know, 2 foot wide discs of it just... .don't
      • ruaok
        lol
      • yllona
krazykiwiMB: at the same age as your youngest, i refused to eat anything but peanut butter and fresh jam, and would only sleep in my bed backward (head & pillow facing the headboard)
      • krazykiwiMB
        hahahaha
      • she's not that bad
      • her big sister was, she decided she was a vegetarian, other than things made from bacon
      • ruaok
        bacontarian!
      • krazykiwiMB
well, we were at a grill party about 3 months into this
      • ruaok
that's my favorite group of vegetarians
      • krazykiwiMB
and she was making a fuss when the host served her up sausages
      • yllona
the PB & J thing really scared my folks because i'm so small. but the pediatrcian said "it's got everything she needs as long as you can get her to drink milk"
      • krazykiwiMB
so we told her those were made of bacon
      • ruaok
        wow.
      • krazykiwiMB
by the end of the week, she thought even chicken was made of bacon, and was back to eating normal
      • ruaok
        and she ate them.
      • LOL
      • I had friends who went veggie and started not being as healthy.
      • krazykiwiMB
i still use it on her when she screws her nose up at something "but it's made of bacon"
      • and she's 16 :)
      • ruaok
a visit to the doctor and he said: eat meat!
      • yllona
yep. kids will make you crazy(if you aren't already)
      • krazykiwiMB
yllona: my brother got about the same thing, but with cheese sandwiches and apples (apparently, a near perfect diet, according to the doctor)
      • yllona
ruaok: yes, exactly, i can't be a vegetarian. doctor said the same thing -- eat meat!
      • krazykiwiMB
i can't be a vegetarian for several reasons
      • but the main one is, i really really like meat
      • srotta
        8)
      • I have the same problem. 8)
      • ruaok raises his hand
      • Although I have to admit, I've never really understood why people are so fussed about, for example, having different kinds of food in some get-together so that everyone can eat.
      • ruaok
vegatarians just taste so damned good.
      • krazykiwiMB
heh, reminds me of telling the above story, in front of youngest daughter
      • srotta
Everyone chooses their diet. Vegetarian disher are pretty much edible by everyone. If they choose not to eat them, that's their choice.
      • krazykiwiMB
she asks 'what's a vegetarian', we explained, she asked why people wouldn't eat meat
      • we say "because they like animals, and think they are cute, among other reasons"
      • (she is only 8 after all)
      • she says "but i like animals, they are cute!", we say "oh, are you going to be a vegetarian then?
      • she humms and hahs, and finally says "no, i think i will be a school teacher or a singer"
      • srotta
        8)
      • krazykiwiMB
(again, still better than her big sister, who wanted to be prime minister... or a dolphin)
      • ruaok
hey one out of two aint bad
      • krazykiwiMB
        she's a good swimmer, she'll make a great dolphin
      • oh dear
      • someone, who is not me, is editing track names on nirvana bootlegs
      • that'll be fun to watch
      • my bad
      • ruaok
grrr. i wish people would stop asking to place ads on mb.org
      • annoying.
      • krazykiwiMB
i'm surprised people don't put more rubbish into annotations and edit notes
      • although i've seen that a couple of times
      • BrianG
        hey kiwi
      • krazykiwiMB
        hola!
      • i am retagging 50 Gb of ripped music in picard
      • and it didn't crash yet, although it did take out my wireless router a couple of times
      • BrianG
        picard.. QT?
      • krazykiwiMB
more importantly, it has finally learnt to not insist that everything is only 99% right no matter how many times you run it
      • which is why i am doing the whole lot, i never dared before
      • and yes
      • and yes, i am doing it in batches, i didn't throw all 50 Gb at it at once, and therefore, at the MB servers for lookups :)
      • plus it's all already tagged and mbid'ed, i'm just re-running it, cos most of it predates puid's, picard qt, etc
      • yllona
        prandial
      • oops, i was trying to say i require a post-prandial nap.. later folks
      • krazykiwiMB
        hehe, gnite then
      • yllona
        laterz!
      • BrianG
krazykiwiMB: i wanted to profess my love to you earlier
      • krazykiwiMB
        heh, what'd i do :)
      • BrianG
        just because you're sexeh
      • krazykiwiMB
        lol
      • yeah, i get that a lot
      • walking down the street and all
      • BrianG
        past the one pizza joint
      • krazykiwiMB
        and the hairdresser
      • ruaok
krazykiwiMB: what is the name of the town you live in?
      • krazykiwiMB
        stallarholmen
      • BrianG
        translastion.. One Horse
      • krazykiwiMB
it's not even on the frappr map lol
      • BrianG
        ;P
      • krazykiwiMB
        brian: scarily enough
      • a stall in swedish is exactly what it is in english
      • it pretty much used to be where the king kept his horses lol (grippsholm castle is just down the road, still the summer castle of the swedish king)
      • ruaok
        nice.
      • krazykiwiMB
ruaok: since you almost certainly won't find it on any map, you might look for Strängnäs instead (or just strangnas)
      • ruaok
walking distance to a nice swimming place?
      • google maps found it ok.
      • krazykiwiMB
        you walk fast?
      • juhae
krazykiwiMB: were the stalls on an island?
      • krazykiwiMB
        3 minutes, 7 minutes, or 12 minutes
      • juhae: yes, selaön, second inland island in europe
      • ruaok walks quite fast
      • so does my teenager, so about that
      • depends if you wanna jump off a pier, or have actual sand
      • BrianG
do you walk so far you do that leaning thing that speed walkers do
      • ruaok
3 mins to water. I'm jealous
      • BrianG
        fast*
      • krazykiwiMB
bah, i can't talk in query until i reg this nick lol
      • BrianG
        whered your other nick go?
      • krazykiwiMB
        nowhere, I'm just incognito
      • juhae
strange swedes, putting horse stalls on an island
      • krazykiwiMB
heh, well it's a really really big island
      • ruaok: real viking standing stones, runestones and a whole graveyard
      • within walking distance
      • well 10 minutes in a car to the graveyard, but the stones you can walk to
      • ruaok pencils stockholm in for next may/june
      • juhae
ruaok: make it june and i just might be able to join you
      • ruaok
        ok. :)
      • finland is on my list too.
      • juhae
.. if i graduate next may, i'll prolly have bit of extra cash to spend on a few days abroad ;)
      • ruaok
      • AFT, if you ask me.
      • peanut butter wankers.
      • krazykiwiMB
and nice ferries back and forth between us
      • finland is quite gorgeous though, helsinki is one of my favourite cities to visit
      • partly because it's small enough to get around on foot, and after just a day or so you feel quite at home and well oriented
      • ruaok
come to think of it, I really still need to visit Oslo.
      • I visited Mo, not Oslo.
      • and Oslo seems like a very nice city that needs exploring.
      • krazykiwiMB
oslo, on the other hand, i get thoroughly lost in every single time i visit
      • FauxFaux
        Moslo.
      • krazykiwiMB
including the time i took the bus (the bus driver overshot the terminal and we had to go around the ring road :)
      • juhae
krazykiwiMB: even though i resent helsinki a bit "out of principle", it's a very nice town on a sunny summer day, yes :)
      • ruaok
        I loved what I saw.
      • BrianG
vikings are cooler than pirates, or ninjas.
      • krazykiwiMB
        vikings practically are pirates
      • and they had throwing stuff, so they're a bit ninja'y too
