brianfreud: i had oil-filled ceramic heaters when i lived in SF Bay to supplement central hat. have you tried them? work really well and keep the heating bill down too.

yep, I've used them in the past - have a large ceramic space heater atm, not oil-based though

why is the cold so bad? I'm farther north than you guys and I have my window open and i'm sitting beside that open window :-)

comes straight at my area from up in Alberta

i like the oil-filled. doesn't dry the air out. with central heat and forced air, i also have to use a humidifier

I've noticed St Catherines tends to be 5-10 degress warmer than here much of the time too
