before doing 2767, I would ensure we have some sensible way to stop picard from doing whatever it is doing at the moment
brianfreud: these could be some easy excercises for anyone who'd like to hack on picard
GaryvdM
I have been working on a patch that makes it easier to work with the thread queues

1040 reminds me of the logoff sound discussion in ubuntu: it was just too long and has been cut off when the computer went down, so they've shortened it to a second or so
likewise, file saving is just a second, a progress bar would flicker a lot
GaryvdM
I was thinking for 1040 - change the icon in the list

brianfreud: I think picard should be an ideal filter for your music collection: get the metadata from musicbrainz, lyrics from lyricwiki, your own tags and categories from last.fm (doesn't work yet), song rating from somewhere else etc.
GaryvdM: but the icon does change from rectangle to a check?

GaryvdM
Yes - change it from rectangle - to save icon - to check
If the save takes long - currently you don't know if it's taking long - or you didn't click
pronik
GaryvdM: could be easy to implement
GaryvdM
Yes

brianfreud: 2920 has some documentation in wiki about the format
brianfreud
ok, I broke it down, works out to about 9 issues, one with 4 subparts:
1) "Pause" when out of space during save: 2767 (my top priority ticket)
At any rate, I know the standard thus far has been to include one release with the original Kanji with one for the translation and possibly one for transliteration.
Is there a StyleGuideline that reinforces that notion, or should that information be in the track title?
It appears to be a novice editor, but I can't seem to find any standard backing up the whole "make additional meta listings for translations and transliterations" notion.
Not to shake up the system too much. :)

vincentrichter: hm, can't seem to find it either. :/

I'm going to vote against it, but that's more an endorsement of precedent than anything.
I would think we'd want to keep as much information as possible.
I'll see what I can do about filing a polite but informative email with the editor in question, I think they can become rather valuable to us with appropriate policy instructions. :)
warp
he seems to be destroying some more kana tracklistings.
vincentrichter
Yeah

Mine was not merging TRMs properly, so we've all made one error or another. :)
warp
sure.
no voted all of them...
vincentrichter
"Save the baby TRMs"
I still remember that, lol
warp
and now i'm off to work :)
vincentrichter
Thanks warp. :)
dholmes
Hm
Yeah
It pains me to have to no-vote so many edits by somebody whose involvement is so potentially valuable
brianfreud
agreed
but at the same time, the edits are destructive, even if unintentionally.
dholmes
Oh, looks like they all have 3 'no's already :P
Yeah
MB needs intrinsic translation and transliteration support to render these issues obsolete
The current stopgap has been around too long :(
