Prodoc: if you have any kind of NS card (studenten ov, voordeelurenkaart, ns-jaar(trajekt)kaart), you can tie it to a RailPlus thing for EUR 15,-. RailPlus gets you 25% discount on international traintickets bought from NS.

(RailPlus is valid for a year, so even better value if you plan to travel more often like that)

Prodoc: dutch trains during day times are very regular. most connections go once or twice an hour, consistently. none of that in germany :)

ICE gives you stuff like �100,- discount if you travel on a specific time, what's that about?

get your tickets last minute and pay $$$. plan in advance and get $.
