warp: that is much better than what t-mobile wants.
Prodoc
hmm, I'd better crash at Amsterdam the night before
warp: did you already book the tickets?
warp
Prodoc: yes, though my tickets aren't tied to a particular time
Prodoc: however, I do want to travel with that train. (meeting Nikki in duesseldurf, etc..).
Prodoc
aye
mind if I join you from arnhem?
warp
not at all :)
Prodoc
cool :-)
I'll have my german flat mate work out where to get the cheaper tickets :-D
ruaok
nice. the summit even starts internationally
Prodoc
brb
warp
Prodoc: if you have any kind of NS card (studenten ov, voordeelurenkaart, ns-jaar(trajekt)kaart), you can tie it to a RailPlus thing for EUR 15,-. RailPlus gets you 25% discount on international traintickets bought from NS.
desrt has left the channel
(RailPlus is valid for a year, so even better value if you plan to travel more often like that)

does anyone know if it's possible to get a musicdns/amplified client id nowadays?
warp: will you two be changing trains in düsseldorf then?
warp
nikki: yes.
nikki: atleast, iirc the train we take from dusseldorf isn't one coming from .nl
nikki
ok

I wonder how luks is getting there... I imagine ijabz is flying and outsidecontext is getting a train
ruaok
outsidecontext might drive.
nikki
ah
outsidecontext_
no, i will take the train
and i think luks mentioned to take the train, too
ruaok
nice to see so many people arrive by train.
nikki
it *is* germany :P
ruaok smiles

Prodoc
and I though the Dutch train stuff was complex enough...Germany beats it by far!
alastairp
ruaok: hmm, I may be at the boston hackday
warp
Prodoc: dutch trains during day times are very regular. most connections go once or twice an hour, consistently. none of that in germany :)
alastairp
I'd be happy to talk to people
ruaok
alastairp: excellent! thanks for taking that on.
Prodoc
warp: yeah, in Germany you have loads of different trains, loads of discount options, blah
what was the ticket you have?
ruaok
can you PM me your email? I'd like to introduce you and the organizer.
warp: the ICE trains go every hour on the major routes.
Prodoc
ICE gives you stuff like 100,- discount if you travel on a specific time, what's that about?
ruaok
Prodoc: they are trying to be the airlines.
get your tickets last minute and pay $$$. plan in advance and get $.
ruaok hates it
Prodoc
yeah, shouldn't be like that
warp
Prodoc: to get a better spread I guess. get more ppl to use trains on times when they're half empty, so they don't need longer trains on the busier times.
Prodoc
doesn't make it less of a pita ;-)
warp usually doesn't mind traveling at peculiar times
but what kind of all day ticket do you have?
warp
I have a regular High-Flex ticket from NS Hispeed from Utrecht to Nuernberg.
Prodoc
aha
warp
with the 25% RailPlus discount (EUR 15), the ticket itself is EUR 177.
Prodoc
return?
warp
oh no wait, the lady made a mistake. it's a ticket from Rotterdam to Nuernberg.
oh well.
Prodoc
ach so
but the times you mentioned are final?
warp
ijabz
nikki, yes I am flying arriving Thursday evening, as I didnt want to miss Friday evening and couldnt face get an early flight on friday

warp
Prodoc: ja, de tijden zijn final, vooral omdat nikki wel reserveringen heeft voor een specifieke verbinding vanaf duesseldorf en terug.
Prodoc wonders if a plain instead of a train isn't easier and cheaper
Prodoc
ok
nikki
heehee...
dabul52
hi everybody
warp
Prodoc: to germany? not likely.
Prodoc
goed, puzzel ik morgen nog even verder, bedtijd nu
dank voor de info
warp
Prodoc: slaap lekker :)

Prodoc
goodnight everyone!
ruaok
slaap lekker? that sounds odd.
nikki will never stop finding lekker amusing :P
nn Prodoc !
Prodoc
haha
ruaok is with nikki
ruaok
lecker is only used to describe food in germany.
warp
ruaok: in dutch, almost anything can be 'lekker'. not just food.
