why oh why must people email replies to edit notes yet make no reference to the edit !! ... like i remember who the heck they are and what edit they are talking about days, weeks, months after the fact
catmo
tele: right with you
I think its still needs fixing in the actual *mail* that's sent out
anyone take a look at a modmail? it has 'add a reply' type thing
teleGUISE
especially when its a reply to something like 'In the future, Please use the GUESS CASE button'
catmo remembers when he started and modnotes didn't' mail
catmo
the modnote email template has probably not changed since then
djce
grrrr
djce struggles with apache
damn. I've migrated the lists & mail over, and it all seems to work... except...
the archives aren't accessible via the web.
djce wonders whether to open the mail server for business anyway
catmo
no :(
djce
uh, ok. not the answer I was expecting.
I was expecting "yes" or "up to you".
Why do you say no?
catmo
dunno. I'd rather it was working completely before it when tolnine
djce
me too.
catmo
incase the archives is a sympthom of something else being broke.. but IANAC
djce
it's a fair point.
I think I know why it's broken, it's just an apache thing. But I can't work out how to fix it :-(
catmo
:(
heh, its fun when you edit names into having sortname andsettign type (my favourite hobby when searching I open any obvius names and set their type if they don't have it (some don't even have sortname)) and you come across an artist that you perviusly worked with, but forgot :)
djce
hahahahah!
it works.
Shepard waits for luks to kill him
luks
...
Shepard
finally :)
catmo
HEY!
and you yelled at me!
Shepard
noo
catmo feels vindicated
catmo
:p
shep: I meant luks ^^
djce
Volunteers: please test the mailing lists! Make a test post or two maybe, play with the archives, subscribe, unsubscribe, all that stuff.
Please yell if there is a problem.
catmo
ok!
djce
btw DNS was changed about 20-30 minutes ago, so if your dns caches are over-aggressive you may have to flush them.
catmo doesn't even know what that is
flamingcow
djce: what did you have the ttl set to before you changed it?
most dns caches will happily just follow that
djce
yeah, it's been at 5min for about 2 weeks now
most do. but not all :-/
catmo
ok sent one test off
inhouseuk
djce: the forward, reverse dns + the ehlo announcement could do with all being the same. some anti-spam filtering could block mail otherwise
catmo
oh yes please
catmo got loads of spam since he signed ont mailists:(
