with python2.4 (explicitly, 'python' links to 2.3 apparently) it crashes differently "no module named picard.tagger"

that's because 2.3 and 2.4 have different site-packages locations in debian

I reinstalled picard with python2.4 and now I get libtiff.so.3 as the culprit

sudo rm -r /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/tunepimp*

install the python bindings again
