the fact it makes apache load 231 perl modules is a bit insane

just go to any artist and there will be atrack tab, you can look later like when he might be awake

plus it requires alot of server config stuff

i broke the 5000 passed mods mark and didnt even notice

php is far more cross-platform and has far more stuff built in

I don't think think it's fair to say that one is always faster than the other

perl is really powerful, I just can't read it, even when I've written the code

my brain doesn't work the way perl does

so I stick to php, or before that, C

C isn't exactly known for it's use in webapps though
