There are lots of ways to simplify the design. Most of them turn out to be impossible in practice :-(

Like Google. It gets complicated once you start using it, but the front page makes it all look so easy

Sure, you do, and so do I, but hopefully the majority of users in the future will be casual, once a week or so, users

we have to points of view here.. the users who just wan't to look up things and are new to mb. and the "power users" who want to reach everything from one page (i don't want to click through 10 pages when entering an AR). and somehow you have to bring the new users into the possibilities. if it's to simplified they won't enter new data :)

There's always the possibility of having two front pages

but still, I like the idea of having a nice simple page for people to start from. a lot of people don't need to see most of the links we have
