I just downloaded the latest picard 0.5.0

I had been using 0.5.0-test2 for a while with some success.

but now the official 0.5.0 seems broken. When I tag an album, all of the tracks come up as unmatched files

I just realized I left out the libtunepimp python bindings step

the year field does not seem to be updating correctly

so it seems that mp3 files an have 2 versions of ID3 tags on them

v1 at the end and v2 or v3 at the front.

is this correct?

ok, so I tagged an album with piccard and piccard shows the ID3 tag with the correct data

but my apps don't see it correctly

I wrote a perl util that uses MP3::Info and it shows that the year and track info are missing

I think I figured out the year issue

another fan of The Faint contacted me, and he owns the domain name www.glassdanse.com... glass danse is the name of a popular song by The Faint.

he resently removed all his content from that site and is going to give me hosting there

it seems that piccard/musicbrainz updates the extended tag origyear and not the normal year field

yzf600: you'll find the default in picard is to use id3v2.4 tags which few applications support, change the setting to use version 2.3

Not quite in this case. It's for a website content management system, the purpose of which is to allow the webmaster to avoid having to think about the code. ;-)

Then there's the documentation for creating separate modules, blocks, themes, and such that integrate correctly with the CMS.

Guess there's no rush though, since the CMS is only on release 0.3 and won't be considered stable and ready-for-prime-time until 1.0.
