when I was coming up with the names, I thought long and hard about what to name them.

then 45 minutes later I changed my mind and renamed them.

and then pondered another 30 minutes and renamed them again.

figures. There are no obvious names, it seems.

seems I failed yet again. :-(

mainly I wanted anything except l_* and lt_* (since those are sort of "reserved" for links / link types)

it means they sort nicer now :-)

worked wonders in shaking out the bugs.

yalaforge also commented that with the new AR moderation new and old values, the varchar(255) field for oldval is getting too short.

he suggested changing it to text, to match newval.

any objections?

why not just use newval?

I'ce come across classical entries where I get an error because the tracknmae was to long

"oldval" and "newval" are the wrong names for those columns nowadays

that's pretty invasive change for AR this late in the game. :-(

Don has been editing the link types and attrs on grunt and we should not import from the linktypes.txt and linkattr.txt files.

we should export those two tables before we update.

does your update script take that into account?

are there going to be an album link attribute 'transliterated verion of' ?

tro: suppose you rename a track from "A" to "B". What this means is that a pending change gets added to the system and voted on.

however, when the vote is passed, your track rename mod will only be successful if the name is still "A".

if someone else renamed it from "A" to "C", your mod will fail.
