        some smokey black asian tea
      • is that just the basic chinese tea?
      • guess it's hard to ask you if thats the same tea they serve in American- Chinese restaurants
      • PRAEst76
At it's base, but the leaves are smoked. It takes like BBQ tea... strange stuff
      • Black tea
      • wolfsong
        sounds interesting
      • PRAEst76
I dunno what they serve in american-chinese restaurants. Here I usually get green tea in chinese restuarants... or more likely beer of some kind.
      • Puts hairs on yer chest
      • wolfsong
i could use a lil more
      • PRAEst76

      • teleGUISE
hmm never knew that teas have less yang so the caffeine zing isn't present being its not released in the bloodstream all at once
      • PRAEst76
Which is why I like them.
      • Caffine and me don't get on that well.
      • teleGUISE
        who's in Wyckoff?
      • yllona
        PRAEst76: try harney & sons for tea. i think it's harney.com
      • teleGUISE

      • SenRepus
why do we have "The Stooges" and "Iggy & The Stooges" simply for ARs?
      • Wyckoff, NJ is where Danny Tamborelli was born
      • teleGUISE
and what does that have to do with the price of tea in china?
      • SenRepus
i hate tea, i dont care
      • teleGUISE
i was referring to your apparent c&P of Wycoff
      • SenRepus
you honestly thought i was talking about tea?
      • teleGUISE
no.. we were talking about tea.. you just join back in irc and paste Wyckoff out of the clear blue
      • SenRepus
it was a funny town name
      • PRAEst76
        Yeah, that's what I though

      • SenRepus
i let you guys talk about stupid shit like tea, and say random, unrelated stupid shit in the middle of it all
      • PRAEst76
Ireland still has the death penalty for people who don't appreciate a cup of tea. I think it's seen as treason or something.
      • teleGUISE
ok who's all for shipping Sen to Ireland ;)
      • SenRepus
well ireland can never take my freedom
      • PRAEst76

      • teleGUISE
duh.. yea.. thats what I meant.. I just saw what I typed ;)...
      • none of the archives allow different passwords per file do they?
      • PRAEst76
yeah, I don't think the password protection was supposed to keep everyone out, rather just prevent casual abuse.
      • Probably a better way would be just to not make the music available at all.
      • inhouseuk
it took me longer to download the file, remember the name of the cracker program and the command line options, than it did to crack the file itself
      • teleGUISE
well then how were you going to download it after you spent your hard earned $$
      • command line ... geez you didnt even use your win box for that.. you went all kinds of retro hacker style
      • next your going to tell me you needed to look up the number for the BBS ;)
      • inhouseuk
it was on my dual 2 Ghz athlon FreeBSD box, my windows boxes are a little slow compared with that machine :)
      • teleGUISE
probably cuz they don't have 5gb of ram like Billie suggests
      • inhouseuk
        exactly
      • teleGUISE
oh wait you wanted to run a program and be on the internet.. not sure 5gb was sufficient while running the OS ;)=
      • gee what happened to wolfsong.. thats the longest reboot I ever saw...
      • inhouseuk
plus I'm far happier with a unix shell than winblows
      • PRAEst76
        Can play nethack in it
      • teleGUISE
guess if you play with it everyday its fine since everything is always fresh...
      • i turned my Linux box on the other day.. and almost didnt even know how to view my hard drive ;)...
      • inhouseuk
I've been a sysadmin on various unix flavours for quite a number of years, so, I would say it comes as second nature to me now
      • with a fair few of those years as a senior sysadmin at a fairly large ISP
      • teleGUISE
wow and the ISP wasnt running a MS based server imagine that...
      • inhouseuk
the ones that do, tend to go bust very quickly :)

inhouseuk: do you remember when microsoft got busted for running apache on solaris/linux
      • teleGUISE
damn how long is neowin going to take to up their UK servers... was trying to find the 'joke' story about how MS has a hold on the server market according to the latest report
      • inhouseuk
        yeah, I remember that
      • the same with when they took over hotmail, it was all running on unix machines
      • yllona
        yeah
      • teleGUISE

      • uh, tagger and picard are being really weird with NATs
      • im trying to tag 6 of my files, and tagger does the strangest thing.
      • it puts 3 of the files into their own folders (im using Artist/Album/## - Name format)
      • then it names those folders a truncated version of the title
      • then 3 other tracks it doesnt put into any folder at all
      • nechto13
does it save them and rename them?
      • SenRepus
        yes, i have it rename
      • i got it to work
      • somehow it was just making up the album field
      • nechto13
        making up, that's funny
      • SenRepus
well, it was taking the song title and creating an album name from it
      • im guessing it had to do with the dashes in the date
      • "[title] (live, 2003"
      • the ones with no titles just got put in the artist folder without their own folder
      • nechto13
i don't know what it does if it has to put the track in a folder named after an album and there's no album. i'd geuess it'd put it in the artist folder
      • but i don't know
      • SenRepus
no, it is supposed to put it into a folder titled [non-album tracks]
      • nechto13
hmm, i didn't know that. then again i don't let it move my files around or rename with any info other than artist name and track title
      • in any case what's the best way of going about proving that an album import is duplicate if it's missing 1 track in comparison with the official version?
      • SenRepus
        i dont understand
      • nechto13
there are two versions of this album one has 14 tracks and one has 15 tracks. both are freedb imports, but i can't find the 14 track version anywhere
      • SenRepus
then you cant really do anything, because it could be a promo release or something you cant find info on just because its rare
      • nechto13
highly unlikely, have you ever heard of promo releases of classical music?
      • especially if it's klezmer?
      • SenRepus
or something you cant find info on just because its rare
      • if you want to try, go ahead, just delete the album and say why
      • nechto13
i'm not gonna delete, i'll merge
      • i don't want to lose TRMs
      • SenRepus
i dont think you can merge things with different number of tracks
      • nechto13
      • yllona
nechto13: the Naxos label does promo releases. also the BBC Classical Music Magazine includes a CD with every issue
