i'm working on some small ui improvements on the moderation webpages, is there development going on with this already?
      • ruaok
        nothing active, I think.
      • so, the field is wide open.
      • spooge
        k
      • arg, apparently i need to do my html/css development in ie and not firefox, because none of this works in ie. sigh
      • cikkolata
what're you doing that IE's too stupid to understand?
      • spooge
        css hovers over the yes/no/abstain
      • really it's that it's a hover over a label, i dont' think ie supports hovers on anything but links
      • all this because it's confusing to look at the options and be unable to tell what goes with what. someone implemented using labels linked to the options a while back but it's still not quite easy to hit the labels all the time (space between label and option is unclickable)
      • cikkolata
        ah
      • I think you're right about IE and only link hovers
      • spooge
yeah, it's a pain, but i was going to have to use javascript anyhow to keep the label styled after the hover
      • so it's not a big deal
      • if you have firefox, you can see a rough idea of the first improvements at http://1405.ipwib.net/~spooge/firefox.html
      • ruaok
        very cool!
      • spooge
        thanks
      • ruaok
        I like the color highlighting...
      • spooge
yeah, i'd like to get it to stay after so you can clearly see what is being submitted without much effort
      • ruaok
        ever better
      • even

I like how the labels are below
      • spooge
        yeah
      • cikkolata
        it's clearer
      • spooge
now it seems like ie doesn't support putting options within the label tag, i hate this lowest common denominator web coding
      • ruaok
        especially when its IE.
      • spooge
what are the mb browser percentages?
      • ruaok
        not sure.
      • I'd say we have a higher firefox count than average web sites.
      • but that doesn't say much does it?
      • spooge
i'm sure it would be terribly skewed from mbtagger using it
      • ruaok
        no doubt.
      • spooge
ruaok, you're working on picard, correct?
      • cikkolata waves from the tiny percentage of opera corner
      • ruaok
not right this second, but yet.
      • yes
      • cikkolata: opera != lowest common denominator
      • opera is a fine browser.
      • cikkolata
        yeah
      • but it has an incredibly low percentage of people using it most of the time.
      • spooge
er yeah... it's done in python+wxpython right?
      • cikkolata
it bugs me when people complain about opera's rendering, I can normally do stuff for firefox and have it work exactly the same in opera when IE just pukes everywhere.
      • ruaok nods
      • opera used to really suck
      • I remember back in version 3.61, I had to disable all page styles because otherwise opera mostly made it black on black
      • and the javascript support has taken some time to catch up
      • although I can think of one thing opera doesn't do like firefox does, that's render audioscrobbler's background colour >_<

      • ruaok
        erm.
      • that's tough.
      • I'd say post the modified html and a diff between the old and new to mb-devel
      • spooge
        alright
      • that'll have to wait for tomorrow, i have some steel reserve to consume

      • _thom_
so I'm copying them to my windows laptop a few gb at a time and using the windows tagger there
      • grargh, stupid 'information bar' trying to 'protect me'
      • _thom_ shoots to kill
      • cikkolata
        :/
      • _thom_
I am using the new ipod as a carrot, to make myself tag my music files and eliminate ALL of my duplicates
      • which will involve writing some PHP and storing my MB ID's in a MySQL database
      • the goal being that no song goes on the iPod without being tagged
      • cikkolata
        sounds nice.
      • _thom_
well, we'll see how far I go with it or if I just cave :)
      • cikkolata
        I'm forever organising my music.
      • I want it all to be perfectly sorted and tagged
      • but I keep changing my mind about a minor detail and starting again -_-
      • _thom_
        heh
      • Does the windows tagger work on .m4a (aac) files?
      • ruaok
        no.
      • cikkolata
no idea, I don't use windows

        cikkolata: Debian :)
      • cikkolata
        <3 debian
      • _thom_ is glad that his own CD collection was ripped as mp3's but sadly other music (like that bought from the iTunes music store, then de-protected using HYMN) would not be taggable
      • _thom_
This is all purely theoretical, of course. :p
      • cikkolata
most of mine is taggable at the moment
      • it's about half mp3, half flac and an album as mpc or ogg here and there
      • _thom_
        cool
      • cikkolata
I don't think I have any aac/m4a files anywhere, if I do it's only because I was testing CD ripping with itunes
      • then I changed it to wav and made flacs.
      • :D
      • _thom_
Okay: if I want to Nifty: Got it set up so it'll move the tracks to a new folder, and they'll be put there as %artist/%album/%num %track (just like iTunes)
      • er, %0num

how do you get rid of the 'create an account' frame at the bottom of the tagger? I already have an account
      • or do you just move the line between the two frames
      • ruaok
have you entered your account info in the options?
