anything in the track titles on the release should obviously be in the release language. But recording eti and comments... who knows?
at least with recordings and works there can be aliases with language specified, for eti that's in the title field
but that leaves comments :/

of course, comments are kinda targeted at editors, so using the language that editors dealing with that particular data speak could make sense
then there's our weird semi-structured data in comments, like live information :/

[19:56] <Zastai> extra title info: always release language, or fold "standard" things like "instrumental" to English?

that's what I went for. 8-disc releases are a pain in the butt though, having to look up 7 discs of recordings cross referencing with my tool output because MB still won't let you queue up multiple discids to add in one go (that I know of)
don't have the energy to strip some of the ETI from the new recordings
hibiscuskazeneko
That's why I typically use some sort of launching point for multi-disc releases and then add the Disc IDs one-at-a-time in Picard
Zastai
well yes, but when looking up recordings, especially on releases with album/single/live/demo versions of tracks, the track times really help, and I just can't be bothered to add them all by hand when the discid will just set them for me
if the rel. editor allowed me to leave tracks recordingless pending a new discid submission, that would help (or, if the discid submission allowed "add new medium to existing release" instead of only "add new release"
hibiscuskazeneko
Are you adding a new version of a disc already in the database?
release* (I suck at typing)

we really need to push up that "multiple disc adding" ting soon. it's a serious pita and it's been non-working for too long

Question for all of you: Is a differing matrix/runout inscription enough to qualify for a new release?

on a CD? probably not, a release in continuing production (or even mass production) will probably have several pressings made
