Done - one of the tracks was not in all the releases, just to add to the confusion. I added annotations for that :)

I noticed that the release http://musicbrainz.org/release/db838163-7b07-44... has two different version of a track (regular and instrumental) listed with the same title

So I tried to find out what the correct way is to mark an instrumental edition of a track

We don't use trac for anything anymore for a few years now :)

Yes, that's a process that was started a couple years ago - in 2011 this wasn't done

If the actual release has both with the same title, they should probably stay like that

If it says "instrumental" then Title (instrumental) is a reasonable choice as per https://musicbrainz.org/doc/Style/Titles#Extra_...

it says "Tread Oh (Version)" which isn't very descriptive

but is the instrumental version yes

Actually, "version" is IIRC a very common term in reggae for instrumentals

I'd rather not, because it's historically correct. The whole "Proposals" section of the wiki is not in use though

and will not be fixed anytime soone, btw…

if that section is not in use can that be marked then somehow? If you use the search like I did there is no indication that the information found is not relevant anymore

follow up question: when I try to edit the title to include the "(version)" I need to select a recording. There are two existing recordings with slightly different track lengths.

how do I know if this is the same recording or not?

There should be a button on top "Use existing recordings"

reosarevok, I don't see any reason why 'History:_Proposals:' would be an invalid namespace. The only character restiction I see is "no spaces". Or do you need it to have some sort of hierarchy like categories/sub-categories?

Hello, i have a problem. I try to add a album on MusicBrainz but in the end, it shows me this error message : "Some errors were detected in the data you’ve entered. Click on the tabs shaded red and correct any visible errors." Except I do not see any errors in the data that I entered. Someone would have a solution to this problem please? Thank you in advance.

CallerNo6 Yes, the fields highlighted in red are "Release information" and "Tracklist"

Is the 'Artist' field green?

That and 'Release Group' need to be green before you can submit.

No, the 'Artist' is written in red "You haven’t entered a complete artist credit." And there are nothing on 'Release Group'

Okay. The 'Artist' field is actually a search field. It's asking you to look for an artist in the MB database. When you've selected a match, it will turn green.

If you can't find the correct match, you'll need to add the artist first, before adding the release.

(and if the artist has a common name, please make sure that you select the correct one)
